If that was the case they would be hired ONLY on merit. but they aren't.

Personally though, I think we should spend more time talking about the “E” in DEI—equity. Some small farms are now not getting federal money promised to them that they need to survive—because the initiatives in question are Equity initiatives. They help small farms compete n a more equal footing against Big Ag. We have a lot of initiatives like that—they have nothing to do with minorities, and are about equity instead.

The group that benefits the most from DEI is actually white women. Preventing harassment and workplace discrimination, discrimination in hiring and firing, equity initiatives such as equal pay initiatives, things like that.
