I don't see how you could be upset with Gonzaga beating Cro-Cop it was a spectacular finish. Elbows were clearly something Cro-Cop was not prepared for which lead to the high kick finish.

That's why you can't reason with a lot of people on here. They are so emotionally invested in their favorite Pride fighters. There's no way they can analyze fights objectively.

Cro-Cop didn't look all that great in his debut vs. Eddie Sanchez. They tried to give him another chance. If he fought Sylvia immediately, my guess is it would look like Mirko-Kongo (without Kongo's dirty stuff) or Sylvia-Brandon Vera. Sylvia would put him against the cage and win via a jabfest.

If Gonzaga was able to bully Cro Cop the way that he did, how exactly do you imagine Randy/Cro Cop would have gone instead? Cause you do know that Randy bullied and beat the shit out of Gonzaga only 4 months later right?

Randy/Cro Cop would've gone exactly the same, just without the iconic head kick. He'd have equally beat him up in the clinch and on the ground.

A heart breaking finish for sure. GG had some flashes of pure magic in his career, no doubt the residue of his hard work and dedication. I went from hating him for this gif, to ultimately coming to root for him for his myriad threat game and bizzaro fight IQ.
