Why doesnt UFC do more fighter trades? (ie Askren for MM)

Mousasi hasn't exactly been on a tear in Bellator. He got his ass kicked by Storm, beat two welterweights (Ironic given he fought at 205 for a part of his career) and lost to a guy with only 9 pro fights.
people repeating this to this day is crazy, watch the fight. storm gets muscled for 2 rounds and wins the 3rd.

one of the weirder narratives iv seen stick to a fight.

Watch when the decision is announced at the end of the fight. Mousasi was positive he had lost that one. The majority of the MMA media saw it that way as well.

Askren didn't exactly work out...
I'd say it did. Askren was retired and the UFC got 3 pretty big fights out of him. He probably drew more than Mighty mouse ever did. Plus he elevated Masvidal from average mid card level fighter to a headliner over night.

Lol 3 of those dudes came from SF. Coker passed on Romero. Not a chance. Horrible trade.

You were saying about Romero? U really thought Bellator wasn’t interested in signing him lol

I think Coker talked down his price and got him on a bargain. Plus no Reebok means fighters can make a ton of money off any sponsors they want. It was bound to happen.

He may have come from SF but he's had a long fight career in UFC compared to one fight in Strike Force, I wouldn't consider him a Strike Force fighter just off one fight .

They can build their stars in other divisions. They need a fighter/champion that other promotions can't over look in terms of skill or competition. That fits Romero perfectly in his current situation and his situation with UFC in title fights. With close decision loses vs the champions people can make the argument that Romero should've won the belt. Context matters in Romero's losses, it's not the same situation as fighters usually getting cut from the UFC.

As good as the other champions are, they will always be looked at as 2nd place compared to UFC champions because of the UFC brand and perceived competition level in UFC compared to Bellator. They can't use that card on Romero because he was at the top of the division who people felt like should've won the belt vs the current and previous champion.

They can build their stars, but without cross promotion vs UFC, they will always be considered at a level lower than UFC competition/champions because of UFC's branding of having the best competition.
I agree with that. The spin will still be a guy who couldn't win a UFC title in 4 tries beat the best Bellator. I like Bellator once in a while they have good and interesting match ups. But I dislike their presentation. The ring announcer is lame, their commentary team sucks, I love Goldie but hate Big John as a commentator. Wish they brought back Smith and put him with Goldie or even brought Randy in although I doubt he does it as Hollywood pays better. Even their ring girls are 2nd rate.

Yeah the overall feel of Bellator production isn't on par with UFC. It comes off too serious and bland most of the time, it's missing the comedic and excitement aspect found in UFC commentary and needs a better flow in between fights. Overall package could be sold better, highlights in between fights like UFC does. A Megan Olivi/Lauren Sanko type of personality doing interviews in between fights, etc.
