This is just going to get worse. They should be testing all fighters on the fight card a week in advance so they have at least some time to find a replacement. These positive tests the day before the event is stupid.

They test a lot during fight week, right?
I would think they do at least.

i remember DC saying they kept testing him and he was only a commentator. although i do think that was in Abu Dhabi where Abu Dhabi was paying for all of that.

Do they have a plan for false positives or they just cancel the fight and don’t bother getting a 2nd test to confirm someone actually had it?

I remember when people would fight with the flu and all kinds of nasty shit. The decision should be between Lewis and Blades. Fight in a parking lot and stream it into the area or something.

It costs too much and wme gotta try get all their monies worth from the purchase so they ain’t spending a cent when they don’t need to.

they are doing it right.
the fight being cancelled right before only proves this.

they are testing often and not trying to hide any results.

it sucks but it's good.
Well, if they are testing fighters a week before and they test negative, they need to isolate these fighters for that week. Nobody should be catching covid a few days before the fight.

That’s just because dc is fat and unhealthy

I get what you're saying, and generally I agree that people should be free to make their own decisions given the information available. But it's not just Lewis who would have to agree, Blaydes would have to come into contact with several people on fight night. It's all his coaches, all Lewis' coaches, ref, cutmen, card girls, backstage staff, broadcast crew, etc etc. The UFC can't allow him to fight knowing he has COVID, it would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I do agree there should at least be a second test to confirm though.

Ah.... you can "catch" covid 8 days prior and then not test positive until the day before the fight even if they test every day and lock them up in a maximum security facility.

I get tested weekly and recently 2x a week. I work in a nursing home and was at my lowest risk in months. We had no resident cases and limited staff cases. However, i popped positive yesterday. I think the UFC is doing fine, you just never know.

To be fair, their protocol has worked extremely well up until now. They have had very few problems with Covid, so it's hard to be that critical. I'll give them a break for this one.
What? are you dumb? They've had multiple fights cancelled or moved due to covid, some even on the day of. What is this shilling haha.

A/S/L ?

Two quick things. First according to the reporting the UFC is testing fighters regularly. Second negative results of a COVID test are only 70% accurate, which means you could test today be negative, go no where and tomorrow test positive. Sucks but that is the reality.
