Rumored Why doesn't the UFC covid test a week before weigh-ins?

What? are you dumb? They've had multiple fights cancelled or moved due to covid, some even on the day of. What is this shilling haha.

Its hard to tell. We get these nut jobs that still think covid is fake news. Some just don't care because they are selfish and dont care because it mostly effects elderly with health problems...ect..ect

It doesn't even make sense at all to test somebody for a flu when they have no symptoms. The whole thing is ridiculous.

This is just going to get worse. They should be testing all fighters on the fight card a week in advance so they have at least some time to find a replacement. These positive tests the day before the event is stupid.

people with covid symptoms often test negative several times before finally testing positive

i mean this shit has been going on since like march dude, wtf

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

people with no symptoms can still pass it on to others, who can then pass it on to other people and also die

astounding that the entire year has been dominated by this and people still cant grasp the basics

Because if you throw 10 Americans in a room together they will just argue and be unable to get on the same page in regards to how to best deal with the covid situation.

I get tested weekly and recently 2x a week. I work in a nursing home and was at my lowest risk in months. We had no resident cases and limited staff cases. However, i popped positive yesterday. I think the UFC is doing fine, you just never know.
First of all; you are awesome for woking in a nursing home (though admittedly a self-serving comment as I do pretty much the same, except for people with severe learning disabilities). Second of all, get well soon and stay safe. Best wishes.

Baddest warriors on the entire planet...unable to fight because of a weak cold virus with hardly any symptoms.

That about sums up our world these days.

Well, if they are testing fighters a week before and they test negative, they need to isolate these fighters for that week. Nobody should be catching covid a few days before the fight.
They aren’t. They are catching it 2 weeks before and it takes that long to incubate and infect you and show up on a test. If your girl has Covid and you mouth kiss her, you don’t show positive on a Covid test the next day, it can take up to 2 weeks.

So if Curtis tested positive today, probably from a test he took yesterday, he could have been exposed anytime over the past 14 days. Could have been this week but the average is 10 days with 14 being the max I believe.

Another winner. Boxer in your AV wouldn't survive Covid, guaranteed.

they do

you realise you can be negative one day and positive the next right?

Fucking hell, we are a year into this pandemic and people still don't understand how infection, and incubation work. No wonder its fucking spreading if people are this dumb

They do test them weeks out. Some people end up popping close to the fight any way.

Is there a source? Like when USADA test fighters? Maybe they should have USADA doo the covid testing.
I live in PA, we were, and probably are in the red again. I am being careful, and so is my immediate family. My Wife works Essential, and wears N95 and a standard disposable every day. My wife gets flu like symptoms all the time from her bariatric surgery, and some sort of tonsil condition she has. So she has been tested like 6 times so far since the pandemic started. All negative.

Anyway, my point is, these fighters need to be more careful 14 days prior to there scheduled fights. I mean, seriously, they fight what, 2-3 times a year? If i was Dana i would take a percentage off their next fight if they have to rechedule due to them not being careful and catching covid soo close to fight week.

Think the median time is 4-5 days after exposure for enough viral load to test positive.

this.
i think the marker of them doing a good job is that it isn't causing a massive outbreak everytime someone is positive, like it seems to with most of the pro sports teams

Not sure if true because nobody provided any sources. But i am open to believe some of you keyboard CDC warriors. Especially @Dim .

Dont even remind me. Ravens should have had to forfiet Thanksgiving day game. I made plans to watch that game, and the Ravens fucked it up. Steelers should have won by default. I hope Ravens lost some Key players.

Edit: Oh WTF, i just checked, and now its rescheduled for next Tuesday Night at 8pm? This is some Bullshit. I got work on Wednesday. Ravens should Forfieit, and Steelers should get a buy week. Fucking rediculous.
Straight up robbery.
