Why doesn't anyone talk about Miguel Torres?

Wait that's the reason he's not talked about anymore? (rape jokes bad agree) but haven't others done worst than a joke? if that was really just it.
That's my point.
They seemed to have used him as an example how pc they supposedly were/are.
But the same does not apply for the cash cows.
Double standard at its finest.

Fell to hard. Migel was a baller for sure - but by his own admission he got crazy in his personal life and couldnt keep it up in the cage. It happens. He also was HUGE before little guys got alot of attention. If he had come along a few years later he would have been a mega star.

i am not familiar with torres' rise since i didn't watch WEC but i did watch his downfall and man, that was hard. He was getting KO left and right while the smaller division were getting better and better.

The death of Carlson sr really affected him. He went from having focused training camps led by someone he respected to having to piece together a new training team in the middle of a rise in popularity and competition. Before the Benavides fight he went out to have Drysdale lead his camp and it was basically all bjj. So then he went to Tristar and that changed how he thought and fought and it changed him. Him becoming a "star" in the sport and not having sr or anther person whom he respected to keep him humble and on track played a huge part also. Also all the gym wars and the newer evolution of yoinger fighters were hard for him to keep up with. Today, he is running a successful academy and is an awesome fighter who i am proud to call a friend.

Friend huh? Awesome. I hope you tell him that there's people like me that really respect his career still to this day! Those wec fights are crazy. He was so far ahead of his competition back then. Very cool you're friends with him.

I can't really think of a guy who had the sport pass him by quicker than Miguel. He didn't get worse, everyone else just got A LOT better.

It was a fun ride while it lasted, he had some really entertaining fights in the WEC.
Watch his documentarys he lost the love for the game

I'll always remember Miguel Torres as a great, great early champion.

Regardless of any personal problems, it was ludicrous how quickly the lower weight classes evolved and improved back then. Torres' fall from unbeatable pound-for-pound titan to a guy who lost all the time was hardly unusual, either; look at Jens Pulver, Takanori Gomi, BJ Penn, and Renan Barao.

Doesn't mean Torres shouldn't be honored and respected as the pioneering legend he was. If I had a Hall-of-Fame, I would absolutely induct him.

I remember watching him lose to brian bowles live
I was shocked
To me, Miguel Torres is right behind Cruz as BW goat. Prime Torres was a monster.
