Why Does the Head and Arm Throw Work in WMMA?

I try to watch Bellator but they have a lot of fighter who have two fights. It ends up being background noise unless there is a big even. I caught the Mr.Vanzant vs Edwards fight and it was unbearable.
Mr. VanZant's face everytime he's called "Mr. VanZant"

Most of their BJJ is unbearable too. Watching Lee submit Shevchenko was torturous.
I don’t think there is a male UFC fighter that would not have been able to finish that triangle, nor would there be one that sits in a triangle unable to escape either.

What sealed it for me is when Joanne Calderwood was in line for a title shot last year and had an extra fight and put herself in the most basic, most jaw droppingly obvious armbar from closed guard you could ever possibly imagine, then didn’t do a thing to defend and got swept and finished. Abysmal.

Lack of skills, you often see them get there back taken and it’s why you don’t see it by anyone other than Oleinik who is a true specialist do it in men’s mma.

Lately I haven't seen anyone in UFC use that throw better than Montseratt Ruiz.

She executed it perfectly every round.

Men prefer the barbarian bitch toss or flying butt drops

It depends if the hips are involved or not...

Alot of them are done but just grabbing and pulling the opponent over or drag em that's power...

The ones where guys or girls are getting there.hip in and pulling and lifting ( the right away to do it)...then yes its leverage and its more powerful and uses less energy to do ..
This is part of why i asked what ts means by "Head and Arm Throw". There are distinct mechanical differences between let's say a koshi guruma and a sag headlock.

Those judo throws shouldn’t work in MMA, you only need to have a very basic understanding of clinch fighting and base and just enough strength to pull out/back out, without the lapels and cuffs for grips it’s completely useless and should rightly lead to a back take or a scramble, both of which scenarios the guy trying the throw quickly finds themselves in a disadvantageous position.

For boys wrestling, you stop seeing the head-arm throw around Jr. High-School level due to the fact it is too easy to defend/counter.

Just think about that for a second.

Exactly ....bang on with the videos..

The judo throw (koshi guruma) is much more effective when done right imo but takes more time/steps to set it up...

As the headlock throw is much quicker but lacks the control and takes more energy to execute as the attacker due to the force needed to pull or drag the opponent...

Similar techniques that play with leverage and power

The headlock throw works because you’ve already effectively broken down your opponent almost all the way to the mat by then. There are other finishes from just before he does the punching motion which are arguably more effective.

what? how is there an abundance of throws due to lack of greco stylists, did you mean dearth? paucity? rarity?
Rarity, I guess, as I meant the overall lack of throws.

Sorry for the confusion that my malfunctioning brain caused. These kind of mistakes keep reminding that I'm still quite far from fluency in english.

ps. thanks for pointing the mistake out.

Knee flexibility... I dislocated my knees just thinking about executing one of these

ps. thanks for pointing the mistake out.

I was honestly confused for a while but then i figured out it must be that one word. Change that one word and it all falls into place. Wasn't trying to be harsh
