I might be done using this site, as much as I love conversing with all of you. The annoying "R U A HOOMAN?!?!" interruptions, and now these CONSTANT new mobile popup ads!?!? Who in their right mind would visit this site and decide to sign up and deal with these things, when much simpler alternatives are available? Just in principle, I feel like whoever the management/owners of this site are, simply do not care about the users and growing Sherdog in any meaningful way, despite MMA's growing popularity/fanbase.

It's a legit extension.

I run near a dozen extensions on Firefox, and this site still runs slick as shit when they aren't doing stupid stuff like 2FA. Ublock is good. Ghostery, Adblock Plus, there's a bunch of good ones that make Youtube pretty powerful. There's no difference between using the laptop, Surface Pro, Pixel Pro, or desktop.

Of course I am using adblock on desktop.... but on mobile I do not want to use a special browser just to post on a karate forum

The Brave broswer stops every pop up/ad. I feel for folks not knowing this.

Brave is the best and no YouTube ads.

For mobile, I use brave for sherdog and YouTube. No ads. Haven’t used Sherdog on my computer in at least a decade.

If you haven't yet, try mobile Firefox and ublock origin (has to be that, no other ad blocker is a good) and see how it goes

Thanks guys. I've got enough ad blocking and know-how on desktop and that's almost always how I'm browsing and watching MMA, but I'm not on my computer all the time, so i have to use the devildevice. Mobile tech is just so different and seemingly trades in a lot of user customizability to just become a simplified homogenous experience, designed to be problematic.

If I'm on my phone, I'm on a browser. The less "apps" of any other product, the better.

Brave should be helpful then. Worst of the apps? Fast food places forcing you to get them, lest you pay even more astronomical prices for their slop.

Fair points, I neglected that you started the thread @DougieJones. This is the enshittification of our lives. These sorts of seemingly needless problems pop up (pun intended) all over the place nowadays, a sad facet of modern life. My suggestion of the browser switch is to keep hold of something you seemingly otherwise enjoy.

But to what @Spath said, we should strive for better. I understand Sherdog has bills to pay, but isn't there a better way than this?
