to make viewers like you feel more included
Most intrusive LGBT preaching I experienced in a television show I saw recently was that new Wachowski series on Netflix, Sense 8. My friend and I worked hard to give it a chance, but when it became clear by the third episode that we were being force-fed a softcore trannie porn with a bullhorn, it was on to the next show.
FFS, that's why we kept watching that long. Meh, too bad. I gave it more than enough time. It squandered that investment. I was like, "Wait, let's give it a chance, it will get better," but it only got more politically preachy and trannie. To her credit, unlike Lauren Morelli, at least Lana realized she was a transsexual before she penned a show about transsexuals. It's not like I didn't know that going into it, either.Honestly you are tuning out right when the show starts getting better. I just about did the same thing (stopped watching). But I'm glad I didnt as every episode just got better and better all the way to the final episode
Agreed. Plus they turned him into this girlie gay dude. I liked the Lafayette who tuned up the rednecks in S1. That was my guy. They destroyed his character, but then, there's little they didn't destroy on that show. So much early promise to become just another softcore porn soap opera.I hated that in the last two seasons of True Blood. I loved Lafayette (the main gay character) in the first few seasons but the last few seasons they started shoving gay shit for seemingly no purose whatsoever. It was extremely annoying to say the least.
They are, but not for a lack of trying on Netflix's part.Hbo is the biggest offender.

That's what the entire show was about. Early on, when the show was still interesting, I thought vampirism might be a metaphor for homosexuals, but it became clear, quickly, that the metaphor wasn't this simple or neat.Yup. It was one of my favorite shows but the last 2 seasons were complete garbage, especially the last season which I finished only because of the principle that I had seen every season so I had to finish it otherwise that piece of crap wasn't worth watching. It seemed like the entire purpose of the last season was to make you watch gay scenes and open you up to homosexuality.

Ultimately, vampirisim just represented sexual open-mindedness like those people who talk endlessly about how sexuality is "fluid" and "formless" and who perceive heterosexuals as individuals crippled by rigid thinking. So, the show wasn't just advancing the idea that homosexuals are equals. It was really advancing the notion that we're all pan-sexual if we can just dispense with our inhibitions. It was degenerate bullshit.

Why does every thread now need to have BisexualMMA posting in it?

I've watched 'Shortbus' and read 'Exquisite Corpse'. Two guys smooching doesn't faze me.
