Why does Conor piss you off?

So I was at bjj class the other day and I heard two whitebelts talking about the Conor McGregor movie on Netflix, of course I had to throw my two cents in lol.

So the guy who brought it up was like well why does Conor piss you off if your an mma fan, and I gave him my honest answer:

It’s because he never defended a belt. Imagine being an American football fan and watching all season then at the end of the year the Patriots said nah we’re not gonna play in the Super Bowl. Hell yea imma be pissed because I watch the sport to see the best vie for the championship. Just because the Patriots have one a bunch of other games and won a bunch of previous championships doesn’t exclude them from entertaining me as a fan. They play the sport to make money and we as fans pay that money to see who’s the best. So just because Conor is good it doesn’t exclude him from defending his title. Nobody wants to see an interim belt just like I wouldn’t want to watch the team the Patriots beat in the AFC championship game play in the Super Bowl just because the Patriots didn’t feel like playing.

So as an mma fan why does Conor piss you off?

he's an exciting fighter, he's talented, and he puts on a hell of a ppv.. but why the fuck are people so happy to see him not fight lmao. who cares how rich he is. we're mma fans, not his financial advisors. i wanna see him fight, not talk hypotheticals when he's arguably in his prime and healthy (other than the cocaine addiction, of course)

Conor prioritized his own personal gain at the expense of the integrity of the sport.

Having said that...I don't blame him one bit. Safeguarding the integrity of the sport doesn't provide for your family or fill your bank account...and one bad loss can end it all.

So I'm disappointed purely as a MMA fan, while 100% understanding as a human being.

Exactly he played the system to make the most money and all his lil McHuggers were willing to foot the bill. He fucked up two divisions in the process and it sucks for real fans of the sport.
