Why do you watch the UFC?

I watch the UFC cuz i like the MMA.

Love a good fight of pretty well matched in skill level fighters like UFC mostly puts on. Pfl is a joke the tournament format is a joke. One has silly bjj after MT or kb is not for me.

I'm new as MMA fan, I literally start because I see some short videos of Strickland on Instagram, and then decided to watch him vs Adesanya, after that I watched the analyse of the fight by Vitor Miranda, and I kinda discover that it's not just random exchanges of punches, and it's my new hobby now.

It's entertaining, it's helping me to overcome the end of my relationship with someone I was hoping to marry and with the loneliness, I start hitting the gym and I'm looking for a place to train jiu jitsu now.

I only work, my social life was my girlfriend, I know it's just entertaining, but this shit is helping me to feel alive again, to engage in something.

Having trained and competed in many aspects of the sport myself, I enjoy seeing the arts done at a high level and clashes of styles. A high level fight is like art to me, while the low level fights can just be dumb fun. The sport is also just the most exciting one in general, what other sport can end in seconds or at literally any moment?

I watch because I grew up on martial arts/action movies when I was a kid and UFC/MMA is the real life actualization of that.

Toss in how unpredictible MMA can be, and thats a good recipe.

(If a mod could add a poll, that'd be s'well)

Do you watch the UFC strictly for entertainment?

Do you watch it to see who is the best fighter at each weight category?

Other?

The reason I ask is because I get a bit loud sometimes in my hatred of Dana White and the direction he's taking the UFC.
I have received some backlash and just wanted to better understand the intentions and interest of the average Sherdogger.
I watch for the technique, the will to win, and of course..........

Absolutely nailed that post like a stuck hog sir.

The snide answer would be that I write and talk about MMA for a living, and that would be difficult without watching the promotion that has 75% of the world's top talent. The full answer would be that MMA is my favorite sport, and whatever flaws the UFC may have, it has 75% of the world's top talent and that's usually a good thing.

The old days when the UFC faced legitimate challenges from Pride, Strikeforce and big-money upstarts like EliteXC were fun in their own way, but fans who have come to the sport in the last decade have been spared the frustration of speculating on dream matchups that were destined never to happen.

Because it gives you an adrenaline rush like no other sport other than boxing. Plus this sport has personalities that capture your attention and get you to support them

...to seek The Holy Grail !!

OP: What is your favorite Color?

blue..no Red uughhhhhh !! !!

I watch all sports for entertainment purposes first and foremost.

Mostly because I appreciate the display of skill by great martial artists.

But also in hopes of seeing some dudes I find obnoxious get sent to the real shadows.

To watch people get knocked into Bolivian with extreme prejudice.

I love action, ever since I was a kid, I would like watching movies for the fights, no matter how cheesy or corny that they were.

Grew up kickboxing and grappling.
The early days it was to see how certain techniques/styles could be countered, what's most effective, etc...

I'm still sort of there. I enjoy watching fights with friends who know wtf they're viewing; but I'll re-watch certain portions to "study" application of technique, positioning, etc... just like I did when I was a kid (grew up in Detroit so you had to be able to handle yourself.)
