Opinion Why do so many non Americans like Trump?

They don't like Trump. They just hate PC bullshit and cancel culture nonsense and trump like a smart business man and scam artist picked a side and accociated himself as anti pc/cancel culture.

He made them love him. Was genius. In truth trump probably wouldn't spit on 99 percent of his following if they were on fire. He's just a rich cunt with a huge ego as is almost everyone in politics or places of high power welding positions.

Plenty of non Americans dislike Trump. The reasons are the same. Some people are attracted to his bombastic nature, some people are repelled by his lack of character. It's entirely about personality and how they feel about those personality types.

The foreigners who like him are generally from Western nations, and they like him because they see him as a Nationalist opposed to the diversity / multiculturalism / progressive agenda. These are rightwing folks who may believe having the most powerfull Western country run by a Nationalist could translate into pushing Nationalists into power in their countries.

Others like him because they just hate anything liberal and lean towards social darwinism. Then there are those who like him because he is opposed to Neocon interventionism.

And some like him because he is perceived to be giving the middle finger to the Western globalist elite. I liked him in 2016 partly for this reason but ultimately voted for a 3rd party candidate.

Trump is/was wildly unpopular among the majority of industrialised nations, AFAIK.

As for the reasons why - he is obviously not a clever man who has absolutely no business being near any position of power, who now has a cult like following among others who are even dumber than he (some of whom are in this thread)

Non Americans who support Trump tend to be reactionary folks with little interest in policy or history, but prefer to communicate their political preferences in memes. At least from my experience.
If you ask the average Brazilian what he thinks of Trump or Biden he will have absolutely no idea what to answer outside of some brief summary they heard on some local news tv. Very few people, like me, care about stuff outside of their immediate lives. However, our president was/is friendly with Trump and made some deals with him and ordered his followers to support him. 38% is right around the mark of his hardcore support.

most people in other countries are glad to see the united states get taken down a peg. and having an illiterate low level gangster as our chief executive for four years did that nicely. it kind of marked the end of our whole american exceptionalism thing. even though we still do it somewhat, the illusion is definitely gone once you elect a laughingstock game show host to be president

Status quo for American leaders is to create wars for profit abroad, at least that is the viewpoint a big part of the world has.

Donald went against the establishment which was pretty evident by the actions of the western media sphere.

I think it's pretty much this easy.

He didn't start any new wars <45> Small blessing for the world to be grateful for I suppose <45>

He just exponentially intensified the existing wars by dropping more bombs in 4 years than any President did in 8 and got rid of the oversight of those strikes.

He is great entertainment no matter what he does. Best presidency ever. 10/10.

Might have been a shit president, I don't know, US politics are irrelevant to me, but the memes were glorious.

The entire thing felt like a 4 year long sitcom, lol

"US politics are irrelevant to me..."

What I've seen here at least is that a lot of non-Americans have a really warped idea of what America is like because they get news from Breitbart or something equivalent (or worse!) and don't realize that that stuff is meant to be fun but not to be taken seriously.

He is very clever. He is very smart. He beat everyone to become President.

How does a non clever person beat the GOP, the DNC and the MSM and big tech? He also had to beat the FBI. It's INSANE.

He's very popular in Québec with the qanon crowd. My sister told me it's the same in Ontario. I guess they see him as their Lord and Saviour.

Deep state actors in the GOP and private sector colluding to obfuscate and ignore Trump's antics to protect their puppet while they carry out their extremist agenda behind the scenes doesn't make him clever.

Trump didn't do anything clever. It was all Mitch.

They get their news from the news media which 90% of them hate Trump

The more MSM tell ppl how Trump is a bigot/racist/xeno etc the more ppl support him. I think ppl hate/distrust the MSM so much that they would support anything you tell them not to. Plus Trump is entertaining, he's the yeezy of presidency, no?

I believe there's many non Americans who do not like him

They must really love the current POTUS who tried to get Americans to "vaccilate" whatever the hell that is and gets riled up to the point of calling a young woman a "Lying, dog-faced pony soldier", humiliating her in front of everyone nationally.

Add in the falling down stairs, falling off of a bike, shitting his pants in fear over the Easter Bunny, and calling Kamala Harris President at least twice and he's the all time low regarding Presidents in my lifetime.

But, he's entertaining enough with stories of that bad dude "Cornpop" and the Amtrak conductor who used to grab his cheeks and call him "Joey baby!' in a thick Italian accent.
