I never understood why he didnt believe in himself to wrestle fuck Jones.

He took Jones down at will last round of the first fight, it's not like he couldn't.

I must rewatch it, I didn't remember it that way, I do remember Jones got him down a few times, so I suspect he couldn't wrestlefuck him, that's the answer.

I don't remember the details of the fight. I just remember Jon owning him..

Both fights are competitive and some of the highest if not arguably the highest level MMA fights ever in terms of skill. Both guys brought their best in both fights.
I was rooting for Jon at the time so my memory is probably bias..

Because Jones is a decorated wrestler also and the best in MMA not a good idea for any wrestler Olympic or ncaa doesn't matter the rules are different in the UFC ..

Why didn't Shogun just kickbox Jon?

Why didn't Vitor just break Jon's arm?

Why didn't Gus just keep up the pace?

Why didn't Santos ruin a 3rd extremity to beat Jon?

Why didn't anyone just try harder to beat this guy up?
Your first time example is horrible. Jones is a better MMA striker than Shogun.

Vitor didnt break it because Jones broke the rules

Incredibly hard to get Jones down, who has been able to put Jones on the mat?, I remember a brief takedown in Gus 1 fight, but apart from that there isn't much. Jones is a very good wrestler himself and also was very smart to keep Cormier at his range so it was had to grab Jones.

I did notice a few times Cormier was trying to grab at Jones in the rematch but Jones was having none of it and just push kicked him as soon as he tried, Cormier always does that to opponents but Jones is just so much smarter and was ready for it

Feel free to watch the first fight and count the number of times Cormier shot for a takedown, in any way shape or form
