Why didnt DC use his wrestling more against jones?

You do not understand much what is going on in the fight, do you.

It was barely a takedown, Jones bounced back. DC used every bit of his strength to lift Jones, because he was taken down few times before that and desperately wanted first takedown, but Jones had more strength and cardio as fight went on. Nice attempt by DC, he gave it all.

Jones has some great wrestling when needed but 90% of his TDD is timing and distance control. You can't just randomly spam takedowns at a guy like this and expect to survive. They need to be set up with proper distance and timing but Jones never gives you that

2 Sherdog judges had it 49-46 and one 48-47.

What's interesting is that all 3 Sherdog judges gave round 2 to DC.

Sure, but the actual judges in the fight had it 49-46. Rounds 2 and 3 were split among judges, Cormier had two give him round 2 while two judges gave Jon round 3. Rounds 1, 4, 5 were unanimous.
