just curious, yes he got handled in the Diego fight but that's when Diego had some hype. I always thought gassaway was entertaining when I seen some his fights on the regional circuit. He also fought in bellator. Anyone know anything ?

I think he is fighing Alajamin Sterling at UFC 199

This was at a time where you didn't really have to be on a losing streak to be cut. The company was small and they had to trim the fat where they could. I'm sure it was nothing personal.

Cardio issues? He really seemed to have a way with gassing.

Maybe it was because he tapped to strikes.

Kinda reminds me of when they cut Jorge Santiago, after bringing him back, all he did was lose to Gunnar Nelson, and fought well in that fight. He had a few losses in his previous stint at middleweight, but it still seems an unfair cut.

Also, some worse cuts. Gerald Harris, Jacob Volkmann, Efrain Escudero.

Yea but at this time they were also looking for entertaining fighters. Gassaway was fun to watch and had the look.

Well clearly they brought him in to lose to Diego and had no use for a guy in his 30's who tapped to strikes and had a terrible record.

He went 6-7 after his one fight in the UFC losing on regional shows, not really a huge loss.

His record wasn't that bad for the time. He was an experienced fighter
