Why did Woodley duck Lombard?

T Wood didn't want to horribly derail his own teammate with a brutal finish.

Pretty nice of him, if you ask me.

Jake Shields fought both of them. Shields has a bigger pair and better stand up than Woodley anyway. Come at me.

Bigger pair than Woodley yes, not better standup.

But yeah Shields is a boss.

I love it how some of you guys are trying to question the "ducking" as if its an opinion.

ITS A MOTHERFUCKING FACT. He ducked Lombard. I don't blame him. Lombard is the uncrowned champion.

I beg to differ. Why was Tyrone thoroughly out struck standing by Shields? If he had better stand up he would've beaten him standing you know.

I'm on my phone but here.

Not sure how to embed but it even says at the bottom of the article Woodley is a part time fighter at ATT according to Hector himself. So training partners be damned, Woodley straight didn't want to fight him. As much as I don't like Dana, he doesn't shy away from calling out a fighter who is ducking.

He gotta protect his brand bro

The teammate excuse is sad. According to Lombard, Woodley barely trains at ATT. Further, you dont get to use the teammate excuse when the teammate you claim to care about wants to fight YOU.

Couldn't ducking be considered worse? You can get back up an dust yourself off after a loss, get another streak going and get talked about again. Something like this sticks with you forever and seems a little worse than losing. Glad they didn't give Woodley Matt brown.

Well Travis Lutter KO'd Marvin Eastman in less time than Rampage did, so I guess that means Lutter must be a better striker than Rampage. Thanks for educating me bro. :D

I don't really remember the fight, but you do realize that's not necessarily true, right? A fighter with superior striking can get outstruck by a lesser striker since there are a lot of factors involved in mma, like threat of the grappling of your opponent, being wary of the takedown, having a bad day etc.

Randleman knocking out Crocop for instance.

I didn't say that though, the proof is in the pudding, shields out struck Woodley himself. Guess you never watched the fight? I'm not using mmath, He didn't out strike some guy who beat Woodley he out struck him himself. Shields striking > Tyrone's striking. Go rewatch the fight.

Ducking will probably mostly be remembered by hardcores, while a bigger audience would see and remember the loss.

That's not true, Shields just makes fights ugly, his stand up isn't better than Woodley's but he just finds a way to make his style work.

The only person that I can think of that looked good against Shields other than Ellenberger with the quick KO was Lombard, Shields makes everyone's stand up look worse than it is cause they are so worried about his ground game.

I've seen the fight, there was hardly any striking in it.
