Rory made 50/50 against Maia and Lawler(first fight). I'm assuming he made the same or more against Woodley and Saffiedine. And then he gets a title shot and makes $40K?

What kind of a shitty contract is that? Usually people make more when getting a title shot on a win streak.
 
Who knows. It's fucking ridiculous though. You're not gonna pay a guy who gave us the best fight of 2015 and who had his nose obliterated in the process?

Maybe he doesn't like everyone knowing how much he makes and took a huge signing bonus like Roy, Overeem and Nate.

There are a million ways to setup the contracts. Bitching about someones contracted pay reported to the AC is dumb, you have no idea how much he makes.
 
I don't know, but it would be weird seeing Rory fight anywhere but the UFC. They should pay the man.

I'm not bitching about his pay man. It just didn't make sense why his purse would reduce. But I guess he must've got a huge signing bonus.

Was there any news on when he resigned?

If these guys create more money than viacom is paying it wont end.
 
I'm surprised Rory isn't earning more. Been on top for a while and has a pretty good following.

The sites go off reported income from tax returns and things like disclosed pay and endorsement deals and property. Forbes uses the same type of formulas.

Here is another site that just uses the disclosed pay/bonuses (since pay started being disclosed for fighters in 2004).

And most fighters pay a percent of their fight purse to their camp (corner, trainers, dieticians, etc). So by taking a big signing bonus and smaller per fight purses they keep more of their earnings in a year.
