Why did Mike Goldberg have to say he didn't have a drug problem?

I know this is going way back but i just remembered it. I distinctly remember a few years back Goldberg was doing an interview and said he did not have a drug problem. What caused him to feel the need to say that. I assume rumors got stsrted somehow. I remember him being a bit of a baffoon but I never remember him seeming high.
