Why did Conor leave behind his free flowing karate stance?

Karate stance Conor was the Conor who looked unstoppable. Post-Floyd Mayweather he adopted the tight heavy on the lead leg boxing stance, which was susceptible to getting chopped down with kicks.

Any reason he wanted to fight like in a Boxer in MMA when he had so much success with his older stance?

I mean if the flowy karate stance were the best I think we'd see boxers doing it

Conor made it work with some crazy snipes and maybe the unorthodox style was harder for some opponents to read, but I think the boxing stance is better, just the opponents also got better and Conor also declined in athleticism and MMA talent by spending years on the boxing match

I've no idea. As someone said I believe Diaz 1 to 2 was the key moment, not even the Mayweather fight...

He gassed very quickly in Diaz 1 and I think he recognised that, and that he wasn't going to get Nate out of there with 1 or 2 punches. And that karate movement uses a lot of energy, so I think he became more flat footed to conserve energy and then it just carried on from there.

But, yeah he was much better with the karate stance. That's what he used to throw people off and draw shots out of people in order to counter them. Now he's just a slugger with a shit tank.
