Why Conor did not defend his belt (LW) ?

He's made it pretty clear his goal is to change the criteria for Goatness to champ champ bs(remember that post which basically put him ahead of AS and Jones cause they weren't champ champs).

Dude has Floyd's aversion of risk minus you know the fighting part. Why take handpicked fights with little risk when you can just not fight at all and have zero risk? And if Conor fights he fights at WW that way if he loses it somehow doesn't count towards the LW rankings(Diaz) while if he wins(Cerrone) it somehow does. Talk about having your cake and eating it too.
 
Everything he’s ever done in the sport was geared towards maximising his earnings and making the money choice.

People talk about him being scared to fight this guy, that ... blah blah blah... Conor is the richest MMA fighter that’s ever likely to live and it’s because of the choices HE made in n the sport. He doesnt give a fuck about title defences, legacy or—incredibly—what strangers on MMA forums think.

This seems to make people mad lol

Funny that people still believe he was given 100 million for that fight after Mayweather, Dana, and the UFC all took their cut.
 
Because he went for a Floyd fight, which would earn him more money than 5-10 mma fights would at that time. The Floyd fight also increased his stardom even more. He was already the biggest MMA star prior to the fight, but he transcended that by boxing Floyd.

What a stupid notion. The champion is the highest ranked fighter in a division. Beating them by definition is harder than beating somebody ranked below them as they're supposed to be better.

Defending is supposed to be against someone worse lol.

After you tried to fact check me I googled “how much did conor make vs floyd“, which you should have done as well. Conor made upwards $130 million for that fight, more than I thought.

People should really take into account that Conors fight with khabib happened after he took a BOXING match with Mayweather that made him filthy rich.. those are 2 significant factors, not to mention he may have been on blow as well
 
McGregor is not about defending belts. His greatness comes from looking ahead and getting something bigger and better. That was the notorious way. I think that McGregor is done and he will leave if he loses in January, but I will never forget his legacy. Him destroying Aldo and Eddie was amazing.

They don’t all take a cut. That’s not how it works. He got his purse and his ppv money. He made a lot of fucking money for that fight. The ufc and mayweather were the promoters. They take the money off from the top. Not from the fighters cut.
