Why aren’t shoulder strikes in the clinch used more often?

Weird people call this fight a fix. Probably Conor haters being delusional.

Anyway, Cerrone crashed into Conor's hip when he went for the takedown and then Conor landed the shoulder strikes while he was dazed. Don't think the shoulder strikes would be as effective otherwise.

Whether it was a fix in the pre-determined sense or Cowboy just deciding to fold immediately, we will never now. But it wasn't a fight where two guys were there to win.

Cowboy has outright admitted he didn't try and anyone with eyes and an IQ above 80 (including Stephen A. Smith) could see that was true.

True, at least Alvarez made some money to take a dive, Cerrone probably bitched out for free.
You have the delusion that Cerrone was still a capable fighter at that point. He didn’t take a dive or bitch out. He was well washed and shot at that point.

That’s just Cowboys excuse as to why he sucks. The truth is he was washed and shot at that point.

He did try. Conor went for a fast knock out right in the beginning and Cowboy went for a takedown in response right away to try and beat Conor on the ground which was the smart thing because cowboy has good BJJ and could potentially sub Conor. His face crashed into Conor's hip as Conor sprawled and Cowboy was hurt from that. In wrestling some people get knocked out from crashing their head into a sprawling opponent.

Thats why he was he dazed in the clinch and took the shoulder strikes. After that he was pretty much done for and the high kick sealed the deal. What Cowboy says is he has really bad nerves at the beginning and before any fight and that probably plays a role in making those mistakes or responding to adversity which is why he gets finished in round 1 so many times.

People are confusing a bad performance with being fixed.
