Why are we not doing Costa versus Izzy rematch?

I’m assuming Izzy is gonna fight again. He’s on a terrible skid and needs a name he can beat, though beating costa at this point is by no means guaranteed for him.

It would be a compelling matchup with the background story, built into it, and a winnable fight for both fighters. I know Paolo laid and egg in that first fight, but I have a feeling he would be much more aggressive this time and Izzy is not what he used to be.

The fight makes sense for Costa...but I'm not sure what it does for Izzy.

Izzy probably wouldn't improve upon the first performance and a 2nd win over Costa does very little from a legacy perspective. At best, it would show Izzy is not washed and would get him a better fight next? I know it will probably never happen...and maybe he needs a win first anyway...but in Izzy's shoes, I would want the Strickland rematch.

Costa got picked apart...total destruction. I wont even talk about "that". Costa had to put a bullet in his head and just serve the time.

Why would we do rematches when there are fresh fights to make?

Izzy vs Caio, RDR, and MVP are all more interesting

Costa is right now, actively trying to get cut from the UFC. He's admitted to such before. He wants to box a Paul brother.

Great question. Likelihood of Costa showing up is low unfortunately.

Because “we” are smart enough to know that Costa will pull out.

He just pulled out of 326.
