Why are UFC weigh ins so bush league?

Weigh-ins have always looked bush league and awkward as hell. Even the UFC can't make them interesting television.

This. Glad MMAworld does them all in 1 minute, that's all you need.

I assume people pay to go or people already paying for seats to the event get to go too?
