Opinion Why are there no wars in the Americas ?

Because countries for the most part are new, national identities are roughly 200 years old at best for most countries there, so there is no old blood.

Just look at the Israel thread, shit goes back millennia over who did what to who, in the Americas most people just kicked out colonial rule and found themselves without an identity so they built ground from zero.
1) There are wars in the Americas.
2) most of the bloodiest wars happened when these countries were even younger.

These wars were caused over power struggles and a lot of them were civil wars.

These pale in comparison to the wars being waged on other continents.

America got rid of a lot of the older European imperialist sentiments, and so did most of south and central america after the spanish revolution.

We wrote literal check and balances into our doctrines and institutions to at least try to prevent this kind of conflicting.

There are obvious examples of us meddling in territorial disputes, or other world affairs of course

Are you asking why hasn’t there been a war between the USA and other countries in the Americas recently? As a former Marine who has trained Latin American armies, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, those countries are not and will never be ready to fight a war against the USA. Not only are those countries behind the 8-ball when it comes to training, technology and equipment, their enlisted leadership simply sucks. A conflict against the US from any nation in the Americas is suicide.

Which countries south of the border did you get deployed to? and what years?

We hadn't had much in deployments since back in 2000 with the UNITAS floats. And the one that I was supposed to go on to Panama ended up getting canceled. And then around the mid 2000s we had military in Colombia to combat the drug gangs/guerillas.

I did UNITAS in 2004. We stopped in DR first to train the Dominicans for a few days. Stopped in Panama for libo and then down to Peru. I don’t recall how long we were in Peru but it could’ve been 2+ weeks or maybe 3+ weeks. There were multiple countries involved, don’t recall exactly how many. Before deploying, we were also told to be ready to go to Colombia to fight the FARC. Obviously that never happened.

North america is dominated by the US, which has the highest military spending in the world by far! equal to the next clostest 10 (or so i may be of with a country or two) coutries combined.
It has very invasion unfriendly oceans on two sides and an allied nation on a third. The nation on the 4th side has about 1% military spending of the US. The US does all its war far away and any enemies have trouble striking back on us soil. But add the wars the US has been involved with abroad, and the north americas is not all that peaceful.

Central and south america has seen multiple wars (including a 4day shooting wars over soccerl results in1969. several thousands died), but as stated they have enough fighting internally (either in civil wars or with criminal gangs outgunning the army) without having to try to invade a neighbour to fight someone.

Meanwhile in europe and other places in the old world, all nations are a stonethrow away from multiple other nations, roughly equal in military, that have historical griviences, border diputes and outright hatred that often goes back hundreds of years if not a millennia.

Because you're surrounded by two massive oceans on either side.
To the north is the most wet, soyboy nation on earth.
To the south is Mexico who know they'd be eviscerated if they started a war with the US.
When people say “the Americas”, they are referring to the two large land masses that make up the western hemisphere, not to be confused with the country called the United States of America which makes up a part of the Northern continent. This is common knowledge for most non Americans, but funny enough many who live in the States are still somehow ignorant to this basic geography.

So yeah, your logic doesn’t at all explain why places like Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, etc are also not engaging in war between each other.

There’s no dispute over land or religion in the Americas. And even if a country wanted to invade another for power, the US wouldn’t allow it. You also have countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, that are major non NATO allies of the U.S., so they’re not going anything crazy. Mexico is a huge trade partner of the U.S. Basically, you jeopardize your relationship with the Americans.

Sounds about right, but Cuba and Venezuela are pretty crazy.

Speaking only of N. America...

There are most definitely wars in the USA - they are just of culture and thought versus military conflicts.

Also, there is no reason to fight with Canada or Mexico at present (and hopefully ever), and we are surrounded by oceans.

Not to mention that all the rich people running the MIC in the US prefer to not get their hands dirty in the parts of the world where they and their families actually live.

For the last who know how many years, major wars are happening in Europe or Middle East .
Why ?
Nothing too serious between North and South America so no wars there ?
Also on both continents , no wars, just Europe.
Whats up with Europe then , WW1, WW2 , balcan wars, Ukraine, Israel....

Republicans agree with there not being enough land Wars here, this why they are currently pushing for the US to engage in War with Mexico

We have the largest standing citizen army in the world. Your move world.

Can you extrapolate on this?

The Republicans are pushing the US to engage in War with the Mexican government?

"And yet here we are: There is a growing chorus of U.S. lawmakers, pundits, and presidential candidates proposing the United States use military force on Mexico’s sovereign territory, without Mexico’s permission if necessary, in order to combat drug cartels. In the early days of the 118th Congress, two Republican representatives introduced an Authorization for Use of Military Force bill to empower the military to conduct operations in Mexico against cartels. “We must start treating [the cartels] like ISIS,” explained one of the bill’s sponsors, Rep. Dan Crenshaw. Sen. Lindsey Graham followed their lead, telling Fox News that he would “tell the Mexican government, if you don’t clean up your act, we’re going to clean it up for you.” And at the first two Republican presidential debates, multiple candidates embraced the idea of using military force on Mexican soil as well. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pledged to use military force in Mexico on “day one” of his hypothetical presidency. Even the supposedly moderate Nikki Haley proposed delivering an ultimatum to Mexico’s president on the use of U.S. military force on Mexican soil while on the campaign trail: “You know what you tell the Mexican president? Either you do it, or we do it.”

My suspicion was right. It wasn't a call to go to war with the Mexican government.
