I still can't wrap my mind around people taking "boring" or "exciting" into consideration when it comes to a fighter's standing in the UFC.
That should have NOTHING to do with who gets title shots and who gets released.

I liked watching his fights, but he just never seemed to push the pace...ever even when he was down on points he would just sit back. He also just could not deal with TD's and never showed any improvement over his time in the UFC. I get him being cut, really too bad he could put all his skills together in the UFC to make a run, his kickboxing fights led me to believe he was going to be a killer and just did live up to the hype I had for him.

I'd rather the shitty HWs get cut rather than the very few ones that actually have some skills, even if they're not the most exciting.

They only cut him because they know that he'd do what he did to Gaziev to most of their new signings, and I don't like that as a reason. HW has been a shitshow in terms of talent for years, and getting rid of decent gatekeepers (Jair, Romanov, Williams) will only lower the bar for ranked talent.

I tend to skip most HW fights, Pogues/Hamdy being the most recent one, also any Mo Usman one, for this reason.

I'll laugh if one of their new undefeated HW prospects, Teixeira, gets KO'd by Tafa this week. Dude seems like the Brazilian Struve but with less of a grappling inclination despite his BJJ black belt.

Early Roz was badly down on the cards against Overeem and knew he needed a Hail Mary and actually went for it. This Roz similarly knew he was down and needed a Hail Mary and didn't.

This attitude was surely noticed by the UFC.

Honestly, UFC should have some fitness/cardio tests in place to make sure the HW fighters meets some minimum criteria of fitness and cardio. We've had some truly embarrassing performances in that division.

I agree, but what is probably the problem is UFC loses athletes to NFL or boxing, any of the big guys. They would need to pay more, but it's going to be awhile until real HWs see UFC pays enough and train to be MMA fighters even if they do.
