Because he's average? He's a solid MW but nothing special. A drain cleaner. He beats the bottom dwellers but that's about it. Good guy to have around Because he separates the wheat from the chaff. And yes, I consider Duraev chaff. Not all Dagestanis are legitimate by default. 80% of the division beats Duraev.

I hope he gets a step up in competition. Robocop is no shame to lose to, but he'll probably need to be a bit more dominant in his fights to get recognized.
 
This could easily be derailed into a 'he's nothing special' thread, but I'll try to put a different spin on it.
I do admire him. Not because he manages to collect some back to back wins. But because for what he has, he plays his cards perfectly. There aren't that many guys around these days who are happy with fighting below the ranks despite back to back wins. Especially in a division that has as little movement in the rankings as MW it's a pretty decent strategy for picking matchups imo. People always talk about long winning streaks and barely care who fighters fought other than maybe the last opponent. If he can get a few more wins down, he might get a #5 to #10-ish ranked opponent and a win then would almost guarantee him a contender eliminator matchup, maybe even result in an immediate ts.

Also I actually really enjoy his style. Say about Duraev what you want, but the one thing you don't really expect from that guy is to lose via RNC. Park has a consistency to get to that choke that not many fighters have.
What is the record for the longest RNC winning streak? 3 in a row has got to be already pretty close..

You parlayed Azaitar? Lol. Prada is a beast, like 10 years younger, great cardio and finishes everyone, with an iron chin.

He also wrestles at a very high pace. Azaitar is a gas bag, tires out easily, and was flagged and off the juice recently.

Prado was my biggest straight bet for the night.

Yeah I watched a bunch of Prado's earlier fights, and I was convinced he could take and eat clean shots from Azaitar. Dude took some big hits before and made it out okay. Thought Azaitar's only chance was to KO Prado early and I just couldn't see Prado's iron chin being cracked.

I agree that it was a great performance, showcasing many of the features that made him a guy to look out for; crisp jab, steady forward pressure, and systematic top game.

However, as mentioned, many of his opponents are near the bottom of the barrell. Squeaking past Anders and Tafon isn't necessarily enough to claim you're an elite MW either.

He does look like he's still improving his game, though, and I always enjoy him. I'd like to see him fight someone around Rodrigues' level before committing to a ranked opponent.

Ranked opponent? Maybe - but keep it around the 14-15 area, we don't want to see him getting chewed up when he's been styling on low level opposition. Build him.

Does Imavov have an opponent for France? If so maybe he could get on that Singapore card against a guy Rodolfo.
