Why Are Neck Tattoos So Bad?

Systemic neck tat discrimination is not okay. It's the current year.
I think people have come around to tats showing on like your arms and shit but neck tats just... well.. other than pro sports people and like.... Hells Angels or other criminals how many doctors, lawyers, accountants, and engineers do you see with full blow 360 neck tats?

I just read a study that showed 91 percent of U.S. colleges didn't have a single sexual assault reported last year. Does that mean 9 percent of colleges are putting up huge numbers to make that national 1 in 5 stat?
https://www.rainn.org/statistics/criminal-justice-system

According to this organization only about 344 out 1000 rapes actually get reported
Reasons Victims Choose Not to Report
Of the sexual violence crimes reported to police from 2005-2010, the survivor reporting gave the following reasons for doing so:5

  • 28% to protect the household or victim from further crimes by the offender
  • 25% to stop the incident or prevent recurrence or escalation
  • 21% to improve police surveillance or they believed they had a duty to do so
  • 17% to catch/punish/prevent offender from reoffending
  • 6% gave a different answer, or declined to cite one reason
  • 3% did so to get help or recover loss
Of the sexual violence crimes not reported to police from 2005-2010, the victim gave the following reasons for not reporting:5

  • 20% feared retaliation
  • 13% believed the police would not do anything to help
  • 13% believed it was a personal matter
  • 8% reported to a different official
  • 8% believed it was not important enough to report
  • 7% did not want to get the perpetrator in trouble
  • 2% believed the police could not do anything to help
  • 30% gave another reason, or did not cite one reason

Now I can't verify these numbers or not. It's probably skewed in one direction or another.

What I can say out of personal experience I've known a more than a couple girls including 2 ex girlfriends that were (or have claimed to be) raped and never reported it. And the majority happened on college campuses which is why I'm so big on the subject. And they always seem to happen at frat houses.

i have seen some amazing tattoos and some that are pretty awful. i have about 11 that i can hide under clothing when i go to work or somewhere frequented with more judgemental people. visible tattoos on the knuckles/finger, hand, neck, face....that's like next level commitment and that's where i stop. there still exists that negative stigma around tattoos where people associate tattoos with criminals, lower social class, etc. but i feel like it's starting to relax a bit more but not enough (in my lifetime, anyway) where walking around with a massive neck tattoo in an office will be acceptable.

I'm not doubting your friends but if these assaults aren't reported where do the stats come from.

Have a read of the Times article i linked their estimates are closer to 1 in 40 while still bad is much better than 1 in 5

I got 11 tattoos with 2 on my neck.

Stop telling people how they should live their lives.

Those perfect 4.0 frat boys are raping left and right they have no tattoos what so ever. Or criminal records.

A woman has the highest chance in her life to be raped in college. Who so you think is doing the raping? Homeless people? Skin heads? Gangbangers?

No. Correct answer is frat boys.

1 in 5 women are going to sexually assaulted in college.

80%+ of all rapes occur with someone the victim knows

Date rape is the most common form of sexual assault.

So basically I don't want to hear shit about neck tats because it's the tailored suits frat boys you really have to look out for.

Let's not forget

I don't see any neck tattoos.

I got 2. I never raped anyone.

So what you’re saying is rapists should get neck tats to go undetected?
<mma4>

Nothing too wrong with it, except it looks stupid as fuck just like face tattoos.if you have a neck or face tat it’s like having a “please don’t hire me “ sign across your face, good thing these guys are cage fighters so they don’t have to worry about getting real jobs

That reminds me of this snippet from a long story about Garbrandt:

He told his mom he had to give fighting a full commitment, so she gave her blessing. Cody went to Dallas Brewer, his tattoo guy, and commissioned a grenade on his right hand, “the hand that puts everyone to sleep.” Brewer asked if he was sure, what with future job interviews and such. Cody said do it. He had to make it as a fighter, and this was his contract with himself.

damn so many sissy boys worried about another man's life choices

damn so many sissy boys worried about another man's life choices
Nobodies worried about anything, the man asked a question. We can’t have opinions now? I don’t care if you wanna tattoo a dick on your forehead just don’t get angry when I say it looks stupid

Well tattoos for the most part are for ppl with self esteem issues.

Why would a self respecting grown up have drawings on their bodies?

If you're talented enough to find a job that doesn't require shit manual labor/punching people in the face OR really just don't care what kind of job you have then have at it. For the other large percentage of us that don't punch people in the face for a living and actually want to be employable then it's usually seen as a bad idea done by largely careless/immature individuals. Obviously there are exceptions.

I really don't care what people do as long as I don't have to listen to them whine about not being able to find a job after doing something so obviously counterproductive to finding a job.

People who criticize Garbrandt for having a neck tatt are losers trying to feel better about themselves while bringing someone else down
So doctors, lawyers, dentist, police, and damn near any professional are losers? They are looked down on for good reason. They aren't professional and usually the lowest of society have them on the face or neck.

Neck tats are emblematic of the lack of a father's love. A cry for attention positive or negative.

They're also a sign of being unemployable outside of the entertainment industry.

Some of the best, kindest, most successful, and un'trashy' people I know have neck/hand tattoos. Some of the worst, most spiteful, drug dealin, and scummy people I know drive really nice cars and wear suits.

Stereotypes aren't always true... but they exist for a reason, because more often then not they are true. Being or knowing an outlier doesn't make that any less of a fact. Most people with neck tattoos are shitty lowlifes, so its natural for people to think shitty of them.

Though I, personally, believe in the old adage 'don't judge a book by its cover'

There are employers and employers want people with sensibilities. Tatting up your neck is going through a doorway into a world which separates you from the reasonable. So, do it but do it knowing that if you want a decent paying job, you will be judged harshly. We are not at the point in life where a board meeting will consist of Love/Hate knuckles and a cobra wrapped around your throat.

Because most people with tats are complete and utter toolbags. Fuck ups routinely mention some successful person with tats, failing to mention that the vast majority of heavily tatted retards are fuck ups just like him.

Neck tats take this douchebaggery to another level.

Cody is very lucky to be a successful fighter. If he wasn't born with a natural aptitude for fighting, he would be just another poorly educated neck tattoo guy who works at a school cafeteria.

Saw a guy with neck tattoo today, it said blessed. He was wearing office clothes which made the whole thing very weird. He didn't looked like someone who would decide to have a tattoo like that. I kept thinking about it ... maybe he passed out drunk once and his friends pranked him with a shitty tattoo. I don't know. I would get that shit removed.
Maybe he's really cursed and just got the tattoo to be ironic.

Everyone and their mommas have tattoos so it really shouldn't be a big deal, lol.
