Nah man these things don't make up IQ - different tests factorise IQ differently but being sound-smart or body-smart aren't intelligence, they're talents.
IQ is mostly about information processing ability

That's just one factor of intelligence. Overall intelligence factors everything in, and deals more with your thought process/problem solving/learning than actual memorization intelligence. You can be intelligent in one type but not in another, it doesn't mean you are not intelligent. Intelligence takes shape in many forms. It's not a one size fits all.

This is why classical pianist are considered geniuses, same with chess players - there are different kinds of intelligence.

Yeah I agree, some people still think knowledge=smart. Knowledge is when someone can play a piece of music they were taught to play, smart is the guy who wrote it etc.

Ryan Hall strikes me as really smart, like in the autistic sense not in like the multiple degrees scholar sense, but still super smart. When you hear him talk about jiu jitsu its pretty impressive how quickly his mind works.

GSP. Was actually able top put his ego to the side and retire early. Comes out of retirement for what was to him a relatively easy fight for a title and then promptly retires again. Had a plan, implemented the plan, and exited. Never my favorite but he was a god damned genius in the fight game. Khabib probably just beat him because he is Muslim and he can capitalize off that status in ways GSP never could. Can't leave Conor out. Say what you want but he is street smart and made things happen the way he wanted them to.

Fedor i think is intelligent from what ive seen with interviews with him even when he get dumb or hard questions he comes up with very calm and wise answers.

I actually think theres some false feeling that fighters in general are stupid. Some definitely seems quite dumb but thats the case in all areas. Brock Lesnar is a person u might think is dumb but he seems quite smart aswell.

Frank Mir i get a feeling is intelligent aswell.

As far as taking care of his body, career, investments, business moves, and being a successful mixed martial artist, it's GSP absolutely. He's set the standard and is a role model for young fighters on how to do it the right way.

He was a math teacher so he has to be reasonably intelligent.

I was looking at the Bryce Mitchell thread and seeing his list of reading books, a whole bunch of conspiracy theory books.

Now I realize these guys are fighters and their intelligence isn't what makes them money, but is there a highly intelligent fighter amongst the UFC roster? Is there someone a cut above the rest in terms of mental capability?

I would put Overeem out there as he is incredibly well-spoken and thought out in his interviews. I would also throw Izzy in there with how quick witted he is. Like him or hate him, he is incredibly sharp.

his ability to sell fights is (was) really impressive, especially given hes limited arsenal
he made WAY more money than MUCH BETTER competition. That counts for something.
