In HS I dated a girl that loved Hair Metal. Mike Tramp and Kip Winger were her favorites. I would always play Motorhead and say she could date Lemmy lol. I had a mullet and she loved these dudes with chick hair.

I just watched "The Decline of Western Civilization: The Metal Years" they had nothing but clowns with big hair and makeup on who were dead set on making it. Strange era for rock.

That was really early in the era and only represented the LA Scene. That scene was always filled with weirdos. Most of the folks on that doc couldn't even sing or play. They called it sludge metal or glam. It was more image than music. Only a few with that image really made it...Motley Crue, Faster Pussycat, Poison, LA Guns. The rest were shit. Some of the greatest guitarists and drummers of all time are from that era though, maybe not the glam ones though. After that the producers saw a good looking front man would get albums sold....Everyone wanted that handsome lead guy.
