Its neck & neck between gsp & khabib as it should be good shit

If it was MMA history, I'd go with Rulon Gardner and Alexander Karelin (if his 1 questionable match counts).

But, for UFC only, GSP or Khabib.

GSP out wrestled All Americans like Hughes and Koscheck. Khabib out wrestled some strikers and got stuffed by Tibau.

They are not the same.

Mark schultz gotta be up there.

him putting a beating on goodridge.

Man, recency bias maybe, but Khabib just crushed his opponent's will out there. You could defend his shot perfectly and he'd still power through and get you
Tibau dominated Khabib in wrestling exchanges and won the fight.

Don’t know about who’s the best wrestler overall. I’m sure the list changes due to fighters not alway being in their prime and other factors.

I think Khabib, Jones, DC and GSP, utilized wrestling the best.

Why bib was a great wrestler one of ufc`s best
Completely unproven against other quality wrestlers. It's easy to look dominant against a series of strikers but GSP fought an absolute murderers row of wrestlers/grapplers and beat them at their own game.

Khabib has one of the most inflated resumes in history and wouldn't be top 5 in terms of all time mma wrestlers and not even top 10 GOATs. Might as well put Rickson Gracie as the #1 BJJ artist of all time <Lmaoo> Source: "Trust me bro".

Cut through all of the hype and fetishizing of his undefeated record and look at pure verifiable results against other proven wrestlers and sorry Khabib is not a serious candidate. Myth/speculation have no place in a serious discussion

I think it has to be a toss up between GSP and Khabib, there's an argument for both: GSP was so good at timing his takedowns and they had variety, also the amount of great wrestlers he fought were insane; Hendricks, Koscheck twice, Hughes twice, Fitch, Shields. He either outwrestled them or it was neutral and just the fact that he didn't come from a wrestling background is very impressive. Khabib had great takedowns too, but they were almost the same takedowns every time, but once he got you down, you weren't getting up. That being said, he fought very few wrestlers, so maybe GSP would be my 1 spot and Khabib 2

I reckon a lot of people would have DC up there and Jones outwrestled him in the first one when both were basically peak so I’ll say Jones.

We’re talking MMA wrestling of course so let’s say people like Schultz didn’t have many accomplishments in MMA
That s the weird part. Schulz had like 1 fight at like UFC8 or something? Kevin Jackson was also a top caliber wrestler but had mixed success. Lindland was also top caliber but had a pretty good but not great career in MMA. The 2 best MMA wrestlers are GSP and Khabib and none of them ever did wrestling at a high level.

You don't become MMAs best wrestler by only fighting blown up featherweight strikers and one single solid wrestler in Tibao, where according to 90% of all unbiased online scorings Tibao won the fight 30-27.
Shalorus was in the UK national wrestling team and Trujillo was considered elite wrestler before fighting Nurmagomedov + Eldarov and most likely other Russians he fought at the start of his career

Khabib has dominated virtually every round of every fight with his grappling, you can’t say the same for anyone else in the history of the sport

Shalorus was in the UK national wrestling team and Trujillo was considered elite wrestler before fighting Nurmagomedov + Eldarov and most likely other Russians he fought at the start of his career

Shalorus biggest accomplishment is making the 8th place on the UK Olympia qualifiers, that's like being the number 5 sprinter in Samoa.

Trujilos wrestling career was in NAIA, not NCAA, enough said with that but its also that his overall record is like what, 15-10?

In terms of accomplishments in wrestling, it has to be Mark Schultz, Kevin Jackson, and Henry Cejudo as they’re all Olympic gold medalists. Nickal, Brock, Hendricks, and Askren also had impressive college credentials.

But GSP and Khabib attained the most extensive MMA accolades by utilizing their wrestling.
