Movies Who's the 3 most overrated actors of all-time?

For 'blockbuster' movies -
*Dwayne Johnson. Plays the same character every way.
*John Wayne. Plays himself in every role.
*Kevin Hart. No explanation needed.

Actual 'actors' that are critically acclaimed but very 'Meh.'
*Samuel L Jackson - Just plays 'Angry & Loud Black Man' well.
*George Clooney - Just plays 'Charming ladies man' in every role.
*Robert De Niro - Same reasons as in the OP. He's been phoning it in for the past three decades for big paychecks. He was 'great' for a few roles back in the day, and 'good' for most others until the 90s.

I think it's a good move to split them into two categories. With guys like Arnie and John Wayne, nobody cares that they bad at acting, that's half the appeal.

I want to mention John Travolta. People rate him because he's been in 3 iconic classics (Saturday Night Fever, Grease and Pulp Fiction) but he also struggles with the basic acting skill of portraying a realistic human being in the majority of performances.

That's not to say I don't like him, I just think the vast majority of his work fits much better in your first category, than the second, where people accidentally place him because of those 3 classics.

DiCaprio
James Franco
Zendaya
I disagree with DiCaprio. I get that it's your opinion but between What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Basketball Diaries, Django Unchained and The Wolf of Wall Street I can't say he's overrated.

He and Franco have both had good performances. I don't think DiCaprio is a bad actor, but I think he's given several performances that have gotten ample praise when they're just average performances. Gangs of New York comes to mind.

Mark Mark - everyone knows he sucks but he's still overrated. Because he sucks even worse than most people realize.

Denzel - I love Denzel but if you've seen a lot of his movies you start to realize his lack of versatility.

Will Smith - Probably the worst portrayal in history is Smith playing the role of a man in his marriage.

A lot of people mentioning the Rock and Marky Mark. I don’t think anyone thinks highly of their acting ability at this point. Just good at what they do at the movies they play. Never heard anyone say they were particularly good actors.

There are a few actors I have in mind, but even they have done great in roles against their usual type on the occasions they have. Ryan Reynolds was one. But in more serious roles he can act, he just always seems to get roles catered to him these days.

But oh well. I’ll say Ryan Reynolds
James Dean
(he was only in like 3 movies total. More of a prospect than I too legendary actor people make him out to be)
Daniel Day Lewis (when I see him play a part that isn’t super serious and has some comedy or goofiness, I’ll retract my statement) Oh and he is a phenomenal actor, I feel he’s just overrated compared to the pedestal people have him on.

Tom Cruise. To me he's the quintessential "movie star" but not great actor. Never really been moved by any of his performances sans Les Grossman

Keanu Reeves. I like Keanu, and I like a lot of his movies, but his acting chops are a notch higher than Freddie Prinze Jr. He is the Anthony Kiedis of acting.

Liam Neeson. Some great work but way too much playing the same god damn role over and over, making himself into a caricature. I think there's a line where you can be a good/great actor, but if you keep taking the wrong roles it eventually effects your legacy. And I know his wife died and it changed his goals or whatever but hey man I can only judge you by the roles you play.

Also - Joaquim Phoenix. Joaquim Phoenix is a Paul Pierce who is routinely graded as Kobe Bryant. and this is coming from a Paul Pierce fan. Dude is a great actor, he's just not on the tier people routinely put him on, not for me anyway.
