Pretty much the title....

And will Dern basically be the second coming of ronda?

Because unless she improves a lot in that area, with her skill set, thats whats she is destined to be, at best.

Not hating... Just speculating

I don't think they are similar. Just because they both have bad striking and rely on BJJ doesn't mean they will pan out the same.

As of now, Dern appears to have a better fighter's instinct. Her striking will improve over time. She's nowhere near the level Ronda was on though (yet).

Due to her appearance, win lose or draw, Dern will always be a topic of hot discussion.

Ronda was the better fighter and athlete. Ronda actually knew how to get the fight to the ground and finish, even early in her career. Let us see if Dern will develop those skills.

Yeah

As long as she doesnt give up when she loses and doesnt have someone like edmund to coach her, theres hope <Lmaoo>

I'd say Dern is far more willing to bang than Ronda ever was. Ronda has better striking fundamentals currently but Dern is young and could learn pretty quick.

Ronda did have the judo takedowns though, something Dern is lacking. Without a doubt Dern is better on the ground but you have to get the fight there.

Ronda would tool her standing and on the ground.

Dern actually has good power and her punches are getting better.

She has a ways to go though for sure. She'll have better hands then Ronda when it's all said and done.

I would hope Ronda would tool her, Ronda's only 20lbs heavier than Dern. Anyway, the answer to TS's question is neither, they're both god awful at striking so It's too hard to compare. It's like asking which F is worse between 2 test's.

Honestly, Ronda has/had better striking. What Dern did against Yoder was dog shit. I was completely unimpressed by Dern. She didn't even look athletic.

She was just winging punches. It was bad enough that Joe and DC commented on it and laughed.

I don't know if she was amped up or what but that striking was god awful. At least Ronda hit people every now and then and knocked them out.

They both suck at striking. Ronda towards the end of her career was more polished in her striking mechanics, but never learned how to combine defense and foot work with her striking. Dern is more raw, but she's starting younger and seems to have better striking instincts and throws with bad intentions. As long as her team doesn't coddle her and let's he get some real sparring work in training, she has the potential to be a more complete fighter than Ronda could ever hope of being.

Dern didn't look all that bad standing for only 2 years of training. Looks like she has power and was mixing it up with leg kicks and threw a high kick.

That's more than I've seen from Ronda.

Dern she is not technical at all but if one of those loaded haymakers lands its night night

Dern throws those shogun chute boxe haymakers, she can really throw with power she just ducks her head down and wings super heavy fast loaded haymakers

Ronda had far better technique. Still awful but Dern has some of the worst striking I've seen.
