Who's career has been greater in terms of legacy, Shogun's ou Machida's? Poll Request

How can you claim SHogun was injured or wasn't 100% duirng the first Forrest fight

and then try to say forrest was at HIS best in the 2nd fight? Truly makes absolutely no sense.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therehas never been a greater fighter than Jon Jones in Any weight class

Why wasnt Forrest at his "best" in the rematch? Because "his mind wasnt right and he was having a baby?"

Omg how debilitating!

Now THOSE are TRULY lauaghble pathetic EXCUSES.

Shogun having a legit injuried knee in the first fight IS a REAL reason as to why he lost. That HURT Shogun's ability to perform a whole lot more

Not to mention Shogun took the fight on short notice and had his honey moon durring camp, meaning Shogun had no time to train. All of that>>>>>>Forrest having a baby

Its INSANE how people will "excuse" Shogun's LEGIT injuries BUT than go and make REAL excuses for Shogun's opponents who lost to Shogun

Legit delusional Shogun haters

I THINK you are a little too ATTACHED to shogun, BRO.

Shogun had some silly match ups in Pride when he first got there. Shoji, Gono, Namekawa and Kanehara were all smaller than him. They would be UFC MW or lower. Whereas Shogun states he walks around at 230, and he didn't even have to drop to 205 for those fights.

Thats ridiculous. Shogun has always been a small LHW.

Also Kanehara had went the distance with Cro Cop and Shoji was always very tough. They were nice respectable tests for a Shogun who wasnt even 21 years old.

Anderson fought a bunch of LWs and WWs when he was younger. Are we going to crucify him too

Do you REALISE EVERY fighter was brought up beating bums?

Machida's early record didnt fare any better (except for Rich)Machida FOUGHT A LW BJ PENN. Thats just ridiculous of Machida. Far WORSE than any one Shogun fought in his early career

Shogun was brought up already fighting good opponents and especially once he hit 23, started fighting and beating NOTHING BUT THE best and never looked back (until injuries finally beat him)

I mean, even when Machida was experienced HE STILL KEPT fighting a bunch of lower level fighters for the entire first half of his UFC career like Hoger etc

So for you to be a Machida fan and even try to pick out "flaws" in Shogun's level of comp IS INSANE

Hell, you criticsed Shogun for fighting Naka. Machida fought Naka too. SMH

You clearly dont know what youre talking about. Literally, every time...when ever someone discredits Shogun or doesnt think highly of him, its a new fan or fan who doesnt know MMA. Says it all

Machida fanboys ARE THE WORST

Shogun for now.
Its going to depend on how Machida finishes his career in the next few years

Its going to depend on how Machida finishes his career in the next few years

Shogun's accomplishments are already cemented. Shogun simply hit way higher highs more often. Machida CAN NEVER surpass Shogun, unless Machids hits higher highs. Simply "lasting longer" has NEVER EVER meant anything. Look at boxing. Especially since Machida will have only been beating lower end guys at 185. The ONLY WAY Machida can come close to surpassing Shogun IS IF Machida wins the 205 belt again and wins the 185 belt

I love how Machida fanboys are going on and on about Machida's "superior 7-5 UFC record"

Laughable

YET IF you actually compare Shogun's should be 6 UFC wins to Machida's should be 6 UFC wins (adjusting due to robberies) Shogun has BEATEN A FAR HIGHER CALIBRE opponents in the UFC. Plus finished them all

Again, the differences in their UFC careers arent any where near as big as Machida fanboys are trying to make it out to be and yet Shogun was injuried for most of his UFC career too.

BUT the difference in Shogun winning the 2005 GP and basically going undefeated in PRIDE, fighting NOTHING BUT THE BEST, being a top 2 P4P fighter for years>>>>>>>>anything Machida has done or ever will do.

Shogun was always the LHW GOAT. Machida was never even the discussion

And if you want to bring up that Machida beat Rampage and Davis

Than Machida vs Hendo was razor thin

And Shogun CLEARLY beat Machida the first time, drew with Hendo, and was out classing Hendo in the rematch, like Machida never could to Hendo, until a fluke punch
