Who wishes it was Beneil Dariush instead of Moicano to fight for the title?

In retrospect, it was lame to see Islam take Moicano out so easily but it was definitely the better option pre-fight given Beneil and Moicano's more recent performances.

Would've been a dumb decision given that Beneil hasn't won since 2022.

Same result but would have been a better fight, probably

Nah. Renato was def the one who deserved it. I know Dariush lost to literally the next two top guys in the div after islam but Renato was on a nice win streak. If Dariush wasnt coming off two losses or maybe just lost his last fight you could go with him but in this case it was always gonna be Renato. Think he would have Beaten Dariush and one more win would have gotten him a shot at the belt anyway.

I was actually more excited to see Moicano vs. Islam. Moicano had the momentum from a long win streak, and he has an electrfying personality brimming with confidence that made the fight more enticing to me. I sort of bought the hype, and it's mostly about the hype.

Beneil's best days as a fighter are behind him, he's probably on the Ferguson path

Nice/slightly jealous. I don't have long arms, so against stalkier or bigger guys I often *cannot* cinch the bicep, so I actually end up doing something similar although not as low as Islam's, so I dig it. He does it with a weird angle and his grip seems extra low down his forearm, so I'll have to check it out and mess around with it this week ;)

My arm reach is 5” longer than my height (ape) and has helped during the kickboxing years when opponents “gauge” their distance using my height. Then when I started grappling in ‘05 (to this day) it was kinda a “cheat” when going against dudes my weight LoL

I think Islam carries the squeeze. So when he adjust the angle, and gets the “blade” of his arm in the sweet-spot, he knows he can crank it by holding the beefier part of his fore-arm opposed to locking it in traditionally via figure-4

I coulda swore I seen a break-down vid on it after he tapped Porier and guys were saying that grip is legit

I have yet to try it. I’m currently benched for an ankle surgery in another month and a half and was told to chill until then LoL
