Personally Pat Barry in regards to the Kongo and Cro Cop fights - he freaking had it!!! I just liked Barry as a fighter and his personality - funny dude, cool as hell, but those fights were frustrating as fuck.

Lombard is a good shout. He was an absolute beast steamrolling everyone on his way to the UFC and then he got signed and of course he didn't live up to the hype.

Cro Cop would be my pick though. It's still a bummer seeing the Gonzaga head kick.

Jumped all on the Tarec Saffiedine wagon when he got signed and unfortunately he was one of the top 3 biggest bust/waste of talent in modern UFC

He came into the UFC at age 26 already the strikeforce champ, BJJ blackbelt, well rounded striking, good wrestling, and he trained at multiple high level camps. He was a UFC champ in the making (or at least a consistent contender)

Most of his performances he was super gun shy and half the time he didn't even look like he even wanted to be in the octagon in his fights. 5 years since he signed and he only had 2 decision wins, both against non top 25 fighters.

How can't this be the correct answer. I mean, Gil was the best LW outside of the UFC, and then he gets there, wins only 1 fight (and he almost got stopped in that one) goes on a skid and pisses hot. He just couldn't get it together.

Dave Herman, he's potentially, one of the most athletic freaks in MMA of all time, qualifying and wrestling D1 without having any notable high school wrestling background experience which is unheard of. He amassed a respectable 20-2 MMA record and beat some notable regional / mid tier heavyweights before being signed. Then he comes to the UFC and basically just goofs off, the guy had some staller wrestling and potential but he had no game plans, desire to win or looked to improve any facet of his arsenal, he could of just wrestled his way through a few victories but for whatever reason just clowned around until he was knocked out, wasted his potential and his career. Apparently it was reflected in his training camps, he'd barely show up.

It nuts to think about a former champion that way, but I actually agree with you. Cain looked like a potential GOAT. Then he spent 2 years fight JDS and Bigfoot and by the time he was done with the 3rd JDS fight his body was done.
