Who was your biggest UFC bust?

There has been many fighters that were elite outside of the UFC with tons of hype behind them. Fighters that we thought would absolutely dominate everyone and become champion. Then after waiting years to see how they would do they ended in utter disappointment. There's lots of honorable mentions like Cro Cop, Falcao, Brooks etc but there was always one fighter I never imagined to do so badly in the UFC. Hector Lombard..... Dude was 31-2-2 with 20 KO's crazy fast hands, big power, insane judo and looked like the cuban Mike Tyson. Damn shame how his career ended losing 6 straight with several KO loses. So what fighter is your biggest UFC bust? Let's hear em sherbros.

Khabib. Could have been the goat but retired early. Instead we get stuck with people debating what he might have achieved.

He had two stinks in the UFC, unfortunately came back and got murked by Stann.
Oh, Jorge actually had 3 stints (thought stinks is pretty accurate lol) in the UFC. 1 - 5. 2007 - 2010 he was a beast, whether it be due to competition or juice or confidence.

Erik Koch was my personal bust. Really thought he was destined for big things in UFC.

In hindsight- as far as living up to press clippings :

Kang
Vera ( Brandon)

What Gabriel did to Michael was just ...just crazy.

In hindsight, given their names( never thought of this)- freekn biblical !

Crocop is the obvious correct answer but Brandon Thatch was the other guy who immediately jumped to mind. When he finished Thiago in the 1st he had Khazmat level hype and it just totally imploded. He even had the right look - kind of like a dirtbag bad guy from an 80s movie. What a shame.

Phil Davis wasn't a bust but he was disappointing. At the time I couldn't believe he was outwrestled and outworked by Rashad when they gave him a 5 round Fox showcase main event. For all his tools and ability he just could never really seal the deal.

But yeah, relative to what people thought he was going to do, Crocop was an embarrassment.

Given that a few good ones have already been mentioned...

Miguel Torres

Yes, he had some miles on him and already had recent losses WEC, but to good fighters...but he was still young enough that I figured he would make some noise in the UFC, but...not so much.

Papy Abedi. I remember sherdog was drooling over his muscles, but then he went 1-3 and got cut.

I thought Will Brooks was going to show out in the UFC. That turned out bad.

Mike Whitehead, people have short memories but back in the day he was seen as a big prospect and was the main training partner of the current then UFC HW champ Tim Sylvia, Mike has trained with Hughes and Miletech and Horn and Lawler for many years and was one of their top fighters. 3 time All American Wrestler too.

But when he came to TUF he looked average at best and then when he fought in UFC he was very lacklustre, very boring fights both of them.
The cherry on top was him going to prison for rape shortly after too.

Cro cop, Lombard, Denis kang, El Niño and yoshihiro akiyama none finished with a winning record all touted as next champions before debuts. This guy was never a bust but TJ grant should be mentioned since he didn’t get a title or fought for it before he retired after demolishing Maynard.

Brandon Vera looked liked a world beater at first. Viscous muy thai and super entertaining. Ended up tapping to a Jon Jones elbow
