Yeah, a prime Floyd going from 140 to winning the belt at 147 to fighting Oscar at LMW, which is a weight he could never even get to the limit of yet still won the title there 3 times against 3 all time greats, in just over a year, Pernell was a well established LMW by that point.

Regardless, Floyd did win and this is the Boxing equivalent to MMA math.

For the record though the Pernell fight is why i've always hated Oscar, lol.

no MMA math is not comparing a similar opponent. Old Pernelll looked better against Prime Oscar than Prime Floyd did against old Oscar.

Don't be one of those fucking morons who use "this guy beat this guys so he beats this guy". And it was ridiculous that Oscar got a judges decision. The punch stats were really one sided and Floyd landed all the bigger shots. People think it was close because the crowed went crazy when Oscar pushed forward and missed his punches

Alright dude, I'm done with this, as I said, Pernell got me into Boxing and I loved him but we will agree to disagree here about him beating Floyd.

He definitely got a judges decision against Pernell; who clearly beat him in his prime.

He didn't win against Mayweather. But it was pretty close. The gif you chose showed Oscar landing body shots which do count.

Uh..no, he lost against Floyd. You have no clue about Boxing and it really shows. It was not a close fight at all. Oscar only landed 21% of his punches and almost half as many as Floyd. Floyd landed almost all the bigger shots. The only people who think it was close are people who hate Floyd, or think having almost all your punches blocked, slipped or deflected (casuals) is winning. Pernell should have beaten Oscar, but Floyd was MUCH more dominate against Oscar then Pernell was and its not even a little bit clos. Styles make fights though and anyone who knows anything about him or Pernell knows stylistically Oscar matches up far better with Floyd then he does Pernell.

If you ever want to know how much someone knows about Boxing ask them about the Oscar/Floyd fight. Casuals like yourself (i know i know, you will say you have been a hardcore fans since Mick fucking Tyson) will watch it and think Oscar did good. People who actually know Boxing know it was not a close fight and Oscar was missing almost everything he threw

because when you make your head seem easier to hit it makes defending easier, because you know they're only going to head hunt and moving your head requires less energy than moving your body to escape body attacks or absorbing them on your forearms.

of course 1 day you'll meet someone who is keen to this and will feint a jab and unload a gigantic body shot, but the majority of humans aren't that crafty.

EDIT: i should've quoted the other dude because you probably know this tactic, but it is what it is.

If I recall correctly didn't Floyd's own father say it depended on how you judged the fight to decide who won after Oscar and Floyd. In my opinion Mayweather deserved to win for sure against Oscar but I also had Pernell beating PRIME Oscar very easily.

Homeboi was a spectacle in his Day, entertaining guy yes. I remember watching the fight when I was 12 when Barrera punked him, good times.
 
Mousasi has great striking defense great example against Mike Kyle
Masvidal in his younger days in Strikeforce had slick head movement doesn’t really do it as much now
