Who wants Figgy vs Yan?

Would be a great scrap. Figgy is super underrated.

But I still think he's a little too small for BW.
He'd get pieced up by someone like O'Malley.
Exactly. Anyone 5’9” and under is probably fair game. A huge grappler could also get em (like Aljo or Umar).

Yes you absolutely crazy. Why in the world would somebody want to waste such an exciting fighter as Yan to see another hugging/wrestling attempt into desicion victory? Merab clearly paved the way and Figgy obviously possess both skill and cardio. Yan should fight the winner of Yadong - Gutierrez.

That would be a fun fight. I feel like Figgy is gun shy nowadays and probably on the decline but the same could be said about Yan in theory so it's a solid matchup to see who's still got it

I don’t think Figgy possesses the cardio or wrestling pedigree to replicate Merab’s game plan. He couldn’t even hold Font down. The same Font that was taken down and held down by a striker.

It's from a sherdog thread dedicated to the idea the Deveison Figeuredo was badly in need of a nickname. Which I can't help but to agree.

But the double entendre with him being small (125) and Notorious BIG hit home for me so I try to keep it alive.

I like it sir, I'll try to keep it alive as well ;)

Would be a fun fight, Figgy has probably gone as far as he can go in this division though, can't see him beating anyone ahead of him. Someone who is good at wrestling / scrambling and isn't gunshy like Font was will cause him a lot of problems, I think Yan would be a decent favorite in this matchup.

Hey bro. I understand your perspective in theory, meaning Figgy potentially has the dual-threat skill set, but even in his prime, I don’t think he could hold a candle to Merab’s pace fighting up a weight class.

Mind you, I don’t think Yan is much bigger than Figgy. However, I still think Yan’s defensive wrestling is probably better than Rob’s. Yan and Figgy’s cardio is similar.

Amen 🙏

I favour Yan too, but only slightly. Reason being, Figgy is an explosive pot-shotter and Yan is a low volume counterstriker. If it’s three rounds, you can almost guarantee Figgy takes round 1, if he doesn’t get caught. I also think Figgy’s a little faster, and may actually hit a little harder.

I favour Yan to win rounds 2-3, but Figgy could take the first two by landing the better shots.

I’d have Yan at around -180.

That's actually a good matchup to gauge where each stand in the division. Figgy gets a former champ seemingly on a down turn, Yan gets an easier matchup that may show he has just faced really good guys or is in fact in a down swing

Great fight. The "matches to make" article on the main page would be an amazing card.

Arman Tsarukyan vs. Charles Oliveira
Jalin Turner vs. Rafael Fiziev
Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Petr Yan
Sean Brady vs. Gilbert Burns

Slap a main event title fight in there and you got a sick PPV.
