Who thinks Lesnar has a good chance at beating DC?

I’m a Brock and DC fan but I think Lesnar’s a long shot to beat Cormier. Both are great wrestlers but DC is most likely a better MMA wrestler. Olympic wrestling skill is far higher than collegiate however, Cormier gives up about 20-35lbs. to Lesnar which is considerable. This isn’t giving up weight to Bigfoot, this is giving up a tremendous amount to a great wrestler who’s also extremely strong. DC has far better striking and a decent chin. Lesnar has a great chin but reacts poorly to being hit. Lesnar’s striking isn’t great but he did drop Couture and Herring. DC has good GnP but Lesnar’s GnP is scary and he obviously has knowledge of some subs as that’s how he took out Carwin. DC has a few sub wins also.

I think a lot of people expect Lesnar vs. DC to be like Lesnar vs. Cain with DC dropping and hurting Lesnar with a strike and then following it with GnP for the TKO victory in one of the earlier rounds.

The only way I see Lesnar winning it is if he can get Cormier down and hurt him with GnP. Yes, Cormier’s wrestling is better than Brock’s but 20-35lbs is a ton of weight. Also, there have been great wrestlers who’ve been taken down by lesser wrestlers. Jones took DC down a few times if I recall. Also, they both have different wrestling styles. Lesnar utilizes some clinch TDs but mostly shoots for doubles and singles from far out which is generally safer than a clinch TD. Most people don’t want to throw an uppercut or knee to stop a TD as it leaves them vulnerable and not able to sprawl. DC uses more Greco Roman upper body clinch takedowns which could also be hard against a guy Lesnar’s size. I don’t expect to see DC high crotching and throwing Lesnar over his head like he did Barnett and Hendo. Sure Lesnar could get lucky and drop DC with a punch and hurt him like he did Couture or Herring but it’s unlikely. Sherdog would go crazy if Lesnar dropped DC like Couture and finished him.

DC should win but it's wrong to say a 265 lbs. fmr. HW Champion that rehydrates to 280 lbs. has zero chance against a 5'10 40-year-old LHW.

I think it goes down similar to the Cain fight.
 
I give him a slim fighters chance... cause anything can happen. But. Brock will Brock... wrestle. wrestle. wrestle... and if/when that doesn't work Cormier will let them hands go.
 
It will be ugly one-sided beating. Brock's face will be barely recognizable. Perhaps not to the degree in the Cain fight.
 
DC all day. I'm giving Brock some early success before being TKOd
 
It all depends on the quantity & quality of PED's Brock can get away with taking. A fully juiced Brock is too big, too strong and beats DC as easily as a fully juiced Jon Jones. A clean Brock has no chance in hell and would be out cold within 2 minutes. I wonder how the UFC will sneak him past USADA until post fight this time. DC could be the first champ champ to lose both belts and still keep them both via failed drug tests.
 
No. But it's a fight.
 
I say Brock wins like 1 outta every 4 meetings. DC has hands and while Brock has a good chin we also know he doesn’t like getting touched on it. As far as the wrestling side, they are both great but Brock is gonna have like 40 lbs on DC and WAY more muscle. It’s gonna be interesting to watch as both are unlike any former competition either has faced in the octagon
 
I think if he was told to make it look competitive, DC would almost have to carry Brock for awhile. If DC goes all out, I see him demolishing Brock as much or more than Cain and Reem did
 
Great analysis. You've said as much but DC is much better than Brock everywhere except in the "being ginormous" dept but DC seems to excel fighting bigger guys. Brock can wrestle but, "There's levels to this." Lesnar isn't getting DC to the ground so he's just gonna get mauled standing before getting taken down. Brock doesn't like getting hit. He's got that Tito Ortiz/Jake shields thing going on where when his opponent throws he covers up like they're swinging bats at him. He seems to have too much of an aversion to getting punched in the face. And he's just not the same fighter after losing 12 inches of colon.
