Who is the most famous person on earth?

Not even close, the current president of the USA is probably the most recognizable face, specially by its second term.

Obama specially since its a charismatic president, its present on the news all over the world.

Surprised it took this long for someone to make this pretty obvious (imo anyway) choice. Thread's a great illustration of how people ( youngish male sports fans in this case) view the world through their own perspective. How many American.....or Russian....or Chinese....or indian women are gonna know who Ronaldo is? Just about every single one knows Obama or GWB's mug.

Probably Obama and George W. Bush. Bush actually might be more popular with all the international Iraq War backlash.

Also Osama Bin Laden before his death.

Some of the soccer players mentioned here would virtually go unrecognized in huge countries like the US and China so I doubt it's them.

A lot of talk about Bush and Obama, but no Putin?

Maybe someone from China or India since those countries each make up like an 8th of the worlds population.

In all honesty, I could have a conversation with Lebron James and not know it was him. This man though, I think most would know

Jackie Chan. He will be recognized by everybody whether people confuse him for Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, Jet Li or any other Asian.

Seriously. Asking the everyday person who the worst/best president is will not yield reliable results. it will primarily hinge on their favored political party, their current life situation or their life situation during that presidents term and their knowledge of history (or lack of it).

Trying to change the mind of some people regarding the positive accomplishments or horrible aspects of a president is nearly impossible.

Reagan is beloved because he gets credit for the fall of the Soviet Union, when the real major factors were Soviet overreach, Gorbachev's reforms and the demand for products produced by western corporations. Reagan was essentially the breath that knocked down the wobbly house of cards.

What those that love him still ignore is his role in Iran Contra, The fact that he funded Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban, the failure of trickle down economics, the disastrous impact of his tax policies, his failure to act early to curb the aids epidemic and his ramping up of the war on drugs.

Agreed that Obama is definitely #1. Even someone has access to TV or print news, they probably see Obama's face once a week, especially since the Syrian migrant and terrorism issues are going on.

With Ronaldo, it's like people automatically equate sports with youth. I live in America (Brooklyn) and I know 50-60-year-old men that still discuss soccer the same way old guys here talk about football, basketball, etc. A lot of people don't just stop following sports because they get old. Essentially, if you know soccer, you know Ronaldo...and I'm pretty sure soccer is big in Russia, China and maybe even India, too.

In 2nd place group with Ronaldo, I'd put the Pope, Tom Cruise, Beyonce, Bieber maybe. We have to remember, there are more young people than old people.
