Because some of the fights this guys get in are not even close. Sometimes a MW steps in to stand up for his team a gets his ass whooped by the HW.

You think Donald beating old man McSorelys ass over and proves anything? Donald in his prime and Marty well on his way out.

Fair enough explanation.

Also this poll is a joke without Schultz, Ray, Domi and Grimson. Could probably add Nilan as well.

Do some research TS

Domi is an overrated can.

Domi in his prime was one of the toughest guys in the league.

Meh, doesnt make him one of the best to go fisticuffs. He was on a the losing side of so many of his scraps. Cant recall who off the top of my head but someone whooped his ass twice in one game.

Such a dirty piece of shit.

I believe that was Donald Brashear.

Probert for sure, but no love for Tie Domi in your poll ts? He was tough for his size (5'8") and even managed to getting the better of Probert one time. P4P Domi was probably toughest toughest player of all time.

Probert said fighting Tie was like trying to knock out a fire hydrant.

I'm adding special props to the skill players who also could hang with anyone in the scraps dept.

Wendel Clark

And Jerome Inginla

Best fighter, tough to call..

Best enforcer was Bob Probert without doubt to me.

He is the scariest fucker on the ice, powerful, tall, and no shits. He knew he his job.

In this video he stands up for his goalie and Steve Yzerman. It's one of my favs.

A goalie steps in to hold or stop Bob, and he blasts the goalie in the mask. It flies off the goalie says "Fuck this" and skates away. People were scared of him.

Maguire, who fought Yzerman knows he has hell to pay and hides under the ref, clinging on for saftey. Bob shakes in anger before getting down on his knees and uppercutting him on the ground, putting him limp.

Bob Probert was the man.

Awesome sequence. I hate the Red Wings but always respected Stevie Y. He did pretty well against Maguire there, and showed heart for his team.

I'll always remember fearing for Grant Marshall's life when he and Domi fought. Next thing you know, Marshall lands a solid punch to the temple and down goes Domi. Beautiful.

The missing link - yikes.

Probert was a drunk crackhead. He didn't lose it --- he was never all there.

Marty McSorley doesn't get enough credit. Plus he could play. Anyone remember this?

Wasn't McSorley the loose inspiration for that underrated Stifler film Goon? I thought I remembered coming across that name reading about that film.

Domi does get points for being responsible for the best moment in Leafs hockey for the last 40-some years.

I heard Cam Neely and others phoned Tie after he did that to personally thank him. I swear Neely did more like paid his fine or something but I can't find anything using my phone right now.

As for the poll, Rick Rypien was such a great fighter. Google him, he fought giants way out of his weightclass and schooled em. Hal Gill fight comes to mind.

I legit don't understand how you can not include Chris Simon in that poll, not even being sarcastic but...To me he's clearly top 3, if not the actual winner of this discussion.

I love how before the replay they are going on about niedermayer falling down on his own.

Honorable mention to Tiger Williams and Terry O'Reilly

My second pick here (Tiger), with Nilan!

Taz was mostly known for his fight in the stands whilts Tiger had balls of steel, never backed down but didnt best any of the top enforcers of his time.

Forgot Ferguson and Howe sigh

Modern era is Colton Orr. He was always game and had that KO power.

Chris Simon is top 10. He fought a lot of the legends when they were starting to regress. I don't hold much weight in Orr's win over Simon as he had one foot out the door and Orr was young and hungry.
