Jones is better everywhere than GSP imo. More dangerous submissions, better striking, equal wrestling

Yes, I'm pretty sure both at their best in the same weight, jones would defeat him

He's also a much more natural fighter, with a much better chin and durability

jones beat bunch of old men and struggled against same size guys
fedor > rest

I'm surprised Khabib is getting so few votes, and Fedor so many.

I'd tend to agree. When you look at any other heavyweight, it's hard to win a title and defend the belt more than 2-3 times. The KO power at heavyweight is real. Fedor's run is insane when you think about how difficult it is to not lose over that period of time.

Fedor won what, 26 fights at heavyweight without a loss during that stretch? Only 1 fight was NC due to a cut. Too bad we didn't see Jon Jones try and actually clean out the heavyweight division in his prime. I doubt he could have done it.

Jon fighting old guys is a myth. Most of them were in their Prime except Shogun.

Fedor didnt struggle? In his prime he struggled grappling with Hunt, got subbed by Werdum, struggled against Brett Rogers and Arlovski also. Jon has a significantly better resume, has less losses, less moments of looking in trouble.

Jon is #1, and Fedor or GSP second

1. Georges St-Pierre
2. Jon Jones
3. Demetrious Johnson
4. Fedor Emelianenko
5. Anderson Silva
6. José Aldo
7. Dominick Cruz
8. Khabib Nurmagomedov
9. Stipe Miocic
10. Islam Makhachev

you clearly didnt get the message
also he was alredy out of prime but that time, excl. hunt and arlovski maybe

He was about 31. Thats prime for every heavyweight, including him.

It doesn't matter if they were bigger than him lol, they were in his weight class and he struggled

Does a 5'10" 170lbs version of Jon Jones beat GSP? Highly, highly doubtful in my opinion. Is all the flashy shit going to work against a diligent athlete focused on fundamentals with a solid fight IQ?

I think a Khabib-sized version of Jon Jones struggles with Khabib too. A Chael-Sonnen sized version of GSP would have finished Silva. You would have to be utterly naive to ignore that a huge part of Jones' success came via his phyiscal attributes over his opponents.

People mock GSP all the time for his chin because of Serra. The only thing I really take away from that is most of those posters have never been smoked behind the ear hard. The kick that he ate from Condit was solid, and Hendricks beat him up pretty good. So is GSP's chin good, or is Hendricks pillow-fisted like Jones? Getting your bell rung only a few times over a career, doesn't prove that GSP can't take a shot, it means he can.

Serra caught him and capitalized. It happens. GSP brutalized him in the rematch. Again, and in my opinion, a Fedor-sized version of GSP is a nightmare matchup for Fedor.

Jones beat Khabib if same size (more easy than he beat DC), GSP vs Jones same size... its difficult one...

Wrestling, striking and drugs tests
You forgot driving, being truthful, takedowns, treating others as human beings, acting like a professional, cardio, explosiveness... it's actually a pretty long list.
Low hanging fruit jokes aside, explosiveness is the only attribute GSP has over Jon in your lists. Cardio is even, Jones has a better chin. Jones has more diverse and effective striking. Wrestling is even.

How would you put GSP's striking above Jons?

Agree to disagree on the chin and cardio, to each their own.

GSP comes from a striking background who has adapted and evolved in a manner he feels best suited to MMA. Jones' diversity and effective striking are also part and parcel attributed to his reach, his range, and his height. I believe Jones' striking would be far less effective if he was shorter, if he only had a 72 inch wingspan etc. I also never stated that GSP would outstrike Jones, but yes, I think he beats him.

If you don't think a Jones-sized version of GSP takes Jon down and works the top game, you're biased as fuck. When did GSP ever have a fight where people mused "I wonder if he'll be able to take XXX down?"? A 6'4" 230lbs version GSP with a 84" reach could Superman jab you from across the octagon, change levels and scoop you up and drop you on your head. He's not going to tire out, and if GSP can outwrestle legitimate and decorated wrestlers at WW, I'm confident he could do it at LHW (if he was Jones' size).

Jones held a retiree down for about 4 straight minutes and couldn't put him away in a fight where he he held every single physical advantage. Whenever Jones has faced opponents closer to his physical equal, Jon certainly looked less superhuman.

I revere Fedor but he is nowhere near as complete or as technical or as tactical as Jones and St Pierre.

I mean it's surprising that Fedor gets a lot only because it was so long ago

With Khabib it's no surprise - he beat Iaquinta, Conor, Dustin, Justin, and retired. Really no argument for GOAT there
