GSP should just change his fight name from Rush to Title Fights Only because he is 26-2 but 50% of his entire career has been spent in title fights. I'm not surprised under that continual pressure to win and his apparent OCD that he had to go into hiding for 4 years.

That's another plus in the GSP column. He will probably retire if he loses so I'm assuming he finishes his career with 1 unavenged loss, his last fight, but still, the fact he has avenged his only 2 losses is some alpha shit. He's beat every man he ever faced. The only other champion that can say that in this GOAT conversation is Jones but he has issues.
 
I chose gsp. Fedor has a good record, but almost every other fight was some nobody. He loses points for not going through the gauntlet each and everytime he fought.

Gsp always fought the best in his division and just choked out the champ a weight class above.

Fedor would smash GSP in a fight so GOAT will always be the bigger fighter. I'd say you would have to be LHW and up to be considered GOAT.

Fedor was fighting top guys every year just like GSP was.

Most of the "nobodies" were before he got into PRIDE.

Only people in PRIDE that people try to say were "nobodies" were Zulu and Ogawa but they were both undefeated at 7-0 and were much bigger than Fedor (Zulu 400 pounds and Ogawa a Judo Olympic medalist) so it wasn't completely outrageous when the fights were made. He destroyed them both in 30 seconds.

He was beating top ranked guys every year though.

Fedor was beating every HW put in front of him for 10 years and the only few he didn't fight were beaten by fighters he beat (Nog beat Werdum, Sergei and Barnett and Cro Cop beat Barnett 3x and Aleks E).

I never said Fedor was popular in the US. No one knows who he is outside of these forums! My issue is with people on these forums and not with "Americans" since I'm American myself! Do you think the average American cares about Fedor or Klitchko brothers???? Of course not. It's the majority of people on these forums and MMA writers who do their best trying to put Fedor or GSP ahead of the best fighter we've ever seen so far in Anderson Silva when both of these guys shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Silva or Jones!

No one knows who any MMA fighter is outside of these forums. Seriously, MMA is a tiny, niche sport.

As to the rest, everyone has their opinion. Most unbiased people have the top four as being (in no particular order) Fedor, Anderson, Jones, and GSP. Anyone who thinks one or more of them don't belong in the conversation is ridiculously biased.
