No, I've said that several posters in the thread have complained about pronouns without knowing what they are, seeing how they aimed their criticism to something that wasn't one. Knowing what they are comes before using them. I haven't said anything about you using a pronoun to refer to the shooter.

But since you're now answering my question where I was wrong, I'd say that the only way your faulty paraphrasing is actually wrong is if you think I said that all English speakers don't know how to use pronouns correctly. Is that what you meant to say? Otherwise your reply isn't clear.
