Who here is pumped for tonight’s UFC featuring Erik “Ya boy” Anders and Andre “Touchy” Fili?

NFL is on today and its pre-season which means its meaningless games. Still will be more must watch than this dogbutt of a card.

I try to get hyped for every FN card that comes our way but its getting harder and harder these days. Alot of these fighters are decision queens/kings. Get ready for a long labourious night boys.

Can't wait. Ya Boi just came off a huge win over former MW champion Weidman. If he wins this he should be in the talks for the next title shot

I met Fili's sister (or someone claiming to be his sister, i think she was telling the truth) one night getting fast food walking home while drunk and now I always root for him when he fights for that reason.

Did you get her number? You sure it was not Fili himself?

Yeah, I won't be watching unless something drastic happens (I break my leg and am confined to my apartment). I didn't even bother looking up the fight card. What's the point ? UFC doesn't promote their cards anymore and I'm not going out of my way to find them. They deserve to fail and the company be re-sold to someone who give a shit.

Andre Fili has got the tattoos, piercings and non-bianary look that cant be missed.

Your loss brother. 🤷‍♂️

It was a college town and she was taking the drunk rush orders after the bars closed down. I assume she was working her way through college, but didnt ask.

She brought it up because another guy was wearing something UFC, a shirt or a hat or something. She thought it was cool my friend and I knew the name. We only had a minute or so to talk because she was super busy but pleasant interaction.

I honestly dont really remember how she looked which tells me she wasnt either ugly or super hot. Either way I was more focused on crushing some chicken strips and fries than hitting on anyone lol.

TS I really don’t mean disrespect because you may very well be more Hardcore™️ than I am but most of your posts about realistically mediocre fighters makes it seem like your really trying to convince people you’re not a casual.

I’m not saying you’re a casual you obviously know your MMA history.

Another night of mediocre fighters. It is like going to a strip club on a Tuesday afternoon.
Compared to what? You all make every card is a shit card, last weeks card was great, the one before with Raindeer wasnt so good and before that 318 was good. You’re getting fights every weekend, when I first started watching fights were every 2- 3months.

You live in ATL, or were just visiting?

I used to train with Jucao/Roan Carneiro at ATTATL waaaaaay back in the day, and miss the mma culture there!

I live just south of ATL, yeah. It was my first time going to a UFC event in-person, so I did the whole VIP deal. I had a fantastic time and got to meet lots of fighters.

That's awesome! I'm an ATT fanboy. If I lived closer I would totally train there.

That meeting sounds more exciting than his fights…

<{Heymansnicker}>

Meeting all the fighters at the event was a pretty neat experience TBH. This last fight wasn't exactly a snoozer, though it probably didn't go the way Anders would've liked... o_O

And the fights overall were generally better. Now we get watered down cards every week with fighters who are mediocre at best most of the time. The fight cards are now 1 or 2 good fights and the rest is just filler. Sometimes we get lucky and a fight that looks like crap will turn out to be a hell of scrap but most of the time it is not the case. The UFC is supposed to be the pinnacle of mixed martial arts so most of the fighters should have skills.

I would not watch the NBA if they had a roster that was 80% G league players with 5% WNBA players and only 15% of the roster was true NBA caliber players. This is what we get with the UFC, a small percentage are truly great MMA athletes, then we get a bunch of filler and DW contender series guys and sprinkling of WMMA which leads to many events being boring for the most part of we get that out of left field barn burner or spectacular KO. Those are few and far between and do not make up for the long strings of decision fights with long unnecessary breaks in between fights to hit the time marks.

You seem like a real gentleman which is rare on this site…so I am going to share 2 cool stories.

Most fighters I have met over the years were always super cool….the best was Fedor(probably because I am a huge fan and biased)…he spoke no English but got up to shake my hand and had the warmest smile. I will never forget it.

Also, met Hendo at a bar a few months before he obliterated Bisping in their first fight…also super chill…when I asked him if he was gonna KO mouthy Bisping, he smiled and said “well you never know, its a fight but (then paused)…listen if I forget half of what I know in that fight, I will still beat him”….and smiled… 😃.

Theres not much I disagree with, it’s just people seem to confuse the purpose of Apex fight nights, it’s ment to showcase up and comings fighters, be it they’re not thst good or they’re. The numbered events are the ones that deliver. People on here were shitting on UFC 300, it just seems people are spoiled and expecting a Apex card to be filled with stars.
