I like Gus but he's 3-3 in his last 6 fights. No interim title fight for now

With Jones, DC and Rumble gone he is easily the top LHW though. If OSP beats Latifi then Gus vs OSP for an interim belt would make sense.

Also if DJ ends up moving up to fight TJ then Cejudo vs Benavidez II would be a solid interim title fight.

Nobody really stands out at WBW so that can probably be left alone.

the UFC should start going to junior colleges and recruiting NCAA football/basketball talent that do not have the grades or have been kicked out of university.

they prob wont go pro and are big and athletic enough to compete in LHW/HW.

Not everyone wants to be punched in the face for a living.

Manuwa and No Time are both big hitters, I doubt Gus would want a smack from either of them. I think he's finished in terms of relevance to the top of the division. Head's out of the game.

At his age do you think DC can gain weight to fight at heavyweight and then cut weight to fight at light heavyweight again? I'm not sure that's a good idea or if he's even able to do it. I can't help but think of how that ruined Roy Jones Jr's career.

Dude struggles already with the weight, unless hes planning to go in walk around weight, 230ish lbs id guessing, is possible he could make lhw again.

I agree with this. It's getting pathetic how old these divisions are, with no new contenders. At least recruit out of NCAA Wrestling like Bellator does.

I won't be shocked one bit if he beats Stipe he retires. He has said a hundred times he is done at 40 for sure and that is like next spring. I think the only way he takes a fight after Stipe is if some miracle happens with Jones. Otherwise I think he feels his time is over he has more or less beat everybody at LHW and what a way to go out. Couldn't ask for much more.
