Who else lost interest in the UFC?

watch other events then. I'm watching EFC right now because Dave Mazany is fighting (free online). I watched ACB earlier because Cory Hendricks was on there. I watch every Rizin, Pancrase, DEEP event cuz I love JMMA. There's other options if you like fighting but are tired of UFC.

Even Frank and Lorenzo sold their remaining 5 percent interest to WME last week...those guys made out like thieves in the night. However, I still enjoy watching. I wish the had more stars, but they don't seem to be pushing anyone since Conor and Ronda used up all the PR money, but that is the way the balls roll sometimes.

Heavily watered down cards everywhere. It is obvious that Dana made his money and doesn't give a shit anymore.
Here is what I feel about the recent and upcoming UFC events:

And chances are many other people feel the same way.
How about you?

It's funny you blame Dana, when how many fighters have pulled out for injury, missing weight, they refuse fights, refuse defending titles, or piss hot.

Agreed. Even when the card is pretty solid, the sport is currently so unrewarding to follow that it's hard to get invested. Everything is so negative. 2017 has totally sucked. We're all just waiting for things to improve...
Summed up well.

I haven't watched a ufc event for several years.
It makes me sad, the ufc as we knew it isn't likley to come back.

Pre-injury, pre-usada UFC 217 is looking good on paper. The last event I watched was 214

I would say it's not Dana. It's a vision that higher ups had. They envisioned a sports world where they could dominate the market, and build MMA into a common sports commodity. Like soccer, baseball, or football.

However they failed to take into account that MMA relies on the spectacle of a big names, and short bursts of violence. A KO isn't as appealing when it happens over and over and over, during a month with 2-3 cards, and 20-35 fights, filled with names you don't remember, and faces you vaguely recall.

They're victims of their own success and greed/stupidity. They've cornered the market, and over-saturated it too. All they needed to do was focus on building up a division or two at a time, and holding one kickass card a month. But they went all in and turned it into a bland product. Think of it like food. Is your favorite dish really special if you have it every other fucking day?

It's still exciting when young prospects like Erick Silva will gain more and more momentum as he gets more experience as the UFC slowly builds him up!

Just imagine when his body is fully filled out as he matures!

Everyone would enjoy the sport a lot more if they stopped caring so much about big names, titles, hype, etc.

Just watch fights. It's fun. Trust me.

Honest, the dramatics are a touch overdone but accurate in basic sentiment. Every one of us who loves watching fighting lives vicariously through all the fights we watch, wishing in some way we could do half the shit these guys do.

The last UFC Fight Night is Scotland was a shit card but it was great. Who knows what tonight will be like, it might be shit or it might be great or it might be average.
If you just want to see the big names every week then go watch another sport where they play every week.

Meh, 2017 has been a crappy year overall for MMA. Here's hoping WME gets their act together.

I DVR'd UFC 209 and fast fwd'd past the bulk of it, especially Rashad.

Its not the UFC, it's you. There's a billion of these threads every year when one person loses interest and thinks the world revolves around their opinion. It doesn't and everyone hasn't lost interest.

The overall sentiment is that the modern era UFC sucks.

And LOL at WME-IMG: what a bunch of losers.
The Fertittas did the right thing and bailed the fuck out with WME's loaned billions.
