Such a marketable draw that apparently is not worth the trouble to sign from 3 Orgs now..He has overplayed his hand multiple times now and doesn't understand his value.

Well, actually Ariel personally talked to Francis on Sunday to get his side of the story and Francis told him he told ONE before the meeting I have deal that is very close to getting signed and announced. He made it sound like next week we may hear from Francis and the announcement of his new deal.

Dana doesn't want him and will never be in UFC again. Francis never fought much anyways, so not much too miss. He used to fight once a year, and even once a year is being very kind to him. So much time wasted and very little actual fighting. He is getting old now, and he doesn't like to fight much as it is.

Obviously the fight to make and the one every fan should wanna see - before both get too old. Ngannou wrestling defense is no joke. And he's a big boy. It's a tough fight for Jones - which was why Jones was negotiating so much harder when Frank was the king.

How this is playing out is not making me optimistic for fighters getting a bigger piece of the UFC pie going forward. They have that honeypot on lockdown.

I would rarely defend the practices of the UFC but in this case I’m not sure they did anything wrong. He was offered A LOT of money and he’s not even a PPV star. The competition at HW is pathetic, Ngannou would risk very little by beating up obese MWs. There would be some tricky fights and I’d expect him to lose to Gane in a rematch, but it’s not like the fight itself would have a high risk of causing him permanent damage. I don’t also don’t think anyone should be allowed to box, it would have been fun to watch but Ngannou isn’t a great boxer so it wouldn’t have been competitive.

Instead of saying yes to millions for each fight, he is ending up with nothing. If he was a star then maybe Bellator or One would have paid a lot of money to bring him in, but there’s not going to make any business sense for them to overspend when they will get little in return.

I hope Ngannou lands a big fight that will make him enough money to consider retirement, but most likely he will either retire or fight for peanuts relative to what he was offered by the UFC.
