Who do you consider more talented, Gane or Wonderboy?

Definitely Wonderboy… not even close

He’s the greatest karate fighter in history of the UFC by a large margin

Y’all must have forgot about Wonderboy in his prime

You must've forgot about the former LHW champ Machida. Machida beat tougher competition and was champ. In a division where there's double the damage and KO power

Gane turned Ngannou into a panic wrestler.....i mean sure Wonderboy usually gets laid and prayes on by grapplers and wrestlers but if you told me that Francis would resort to wresting Gane rather than searching for a KO...i would have asked what are you smoking?

Matt Brown, the quintessential brawler who was willing to slug it out with Lawler, Douglas Lima and everyone else, turned into a panic wrestler against WB. It's not like that's the only basis of comparison, though.

Yeah i get you but nobody brawls with Francis for a reason lol.

Especially since Blaydes lost twice to Ngannou and to Lewis. It's not like he's an unbeatable opponent for a striker. I will grant that he's beaten other strikers and is a tough match-up, but who else is really left to fight besides washed-up guys and journeymen? Maybe Pavlovich?

Exactly, Blaydes isn't bulletproof.
Everyone cherry picking opponents is what is fuckin up the flow of the divisions, and fuckin with the rankings.

Now that you mention it, I think they are somewhat comparable in some ways on the feet; good eye. Both are very talented and technical marvels, in my opinion. I feel Wonder Boy is the best striker of all time at 170 (just my opinion), but I feel Gane is overall more skilled. I feel his overall game is more well rounded -- plus, being at heavyweight I feel gives him some bonus points since it is so hard to do things at that weight than it is at 170. I can see arguments for both though.

They seem to have a very similar style in MMA. Both switch hitters and rely heavily on point-fighting background (?). The hands down, little-to-no head movement style they have has both advantages and flaws.

Wonderboy seems to get hit more often because competition in WW is more stacked than HW. Both had shots at the title but failed.

Gane has more chance of being champ than wonderboy ever had. Gane is one of the most skilled HW's for a long while. So based on that you have to say Gane.

WB is skilled due to training since he was a child, I think he started as early as 3 and had a Karate master for a father. Gane on the other hand started training at the age of 24 and has striking abilities that outclass the rest of his weight class and looks like he's been doing this all his life. The fact that he can kick so fluidly despite starting at such an old age is a testament to his athletic ability and natural talent. Guys who start in their mid 20s don't move like Gane and can't even kick pads correctly.

Depends what you mean I guess.

I feel like Gane could have played any sport in the world at a high level. Part of that is size of course.

Wonderboy has done much more in combat sports though.

I never said he was the future sir.
His mindset bothers the shit out of me to be honest.

I never said you said he was the future. Just saying that he strikes me as a guy who will not achieve greatness. And his mindset reflects part of that.

Oh I definitely agree with you on that one sir.
He seems like a "happy to be here" sort of guy, instead of the best fighter he can be.

Same goes for Darren Till tbh.
He refuses to put in the work and it shows with every fight that passes.

Till seems a paradigm case of mental defeat. He does not deal with pressure well. Reminds me of other bully type fighters like Vitor, or Brock. Of course, Till will not achieve what those fighters did.

Yep. It's especially true at WW. Everyone bashes Colby but Burns has a similar resume (old versions of Woodley, Maia, WB, etc.). And Edwards fighting Nate...followed by Khamzat scheduled to fight Nate until that last minute snafu...what's the point of that? Now there's talk of Edwards vs. Masvidal?

I'm fine with the 40-year old veterans like WB, Lawler, Brown, etc. fighting each other and having fun fights. They've earned it. But no serious contenders should be doing that.

He's been with Khamzat for over a year and still can't stop a sloppy takedown.
That shows a lack of work ethic, and mental defeatism like you said.

He thought he was way better than he is and he realizes that amount of work he needs to evolve.
He would just rather be the party boy, and the jokester rather than taking it serious.

Yeah, Till hasn't done even close to what Vitor or Brock (in less than 10 fights) did. His decline reminds me a bit of Rory, but again, Rory had some legit wins over Woodley, Maia, Lima, etc.

Yeah that Masvidal shit should've happened yeats ago, and he definitely shouldn't be in the title picture.

If anyone deserves that shot it should be Khamzat, or even Belal.... absolutely not Masvidal though.
