If Floyd had no prep time, like he was told today that he's fighting Ronda MMA rules in 20 minutes, I'd still put my money on Ronda.

It's really easy to get a fight to the ground when you're fighting someone who's literally NEVER had to defend a takedown in his life.

I'm not sure why people would think it would look much different from Art Jimmerson vs Royce. Jimmerson was bigger/stronger/faster than Royce, and the gap in striking skill was similar. Jimmerson wasn't as good as Mayweather at boxing, but honestly Royce was not as good as Ronda at boxing either, because he never trained it at all. At least Ronda works the mitts.

Don't forget, Ronda got Holm on the ground, and Holm was fully prepared and trained to prevent that from happening and it still happened. So now take Floyd who isn't trained to prevent that at all, and things may not go so well for him.

On the flipside, if you gave Floyd just a little prep time. Like let's say two weeks of training to defend throws, then yeah I think he schools Ronda.

I always said in those threads that Rousey leaves herself open and Floyd lands 50+% of his power punches on elite boxers so he would absolutely deck her.

Lol you realize Holly pretty much cleaned her clock when Ronda got within punching range for the first time.

Honda would have caught Floyd (like she caught Holly) and she would have submitted him. Honda vs Holm was not a boxing match. Hollys boxing didn't stop the take down or submission. Those are important keys that made Holly not lose.

Ronda would NEVER be able to close the distance on Floyd. Holm didn't have to defend many TDs because she used he footwork and counter left (would be right for Floyd) to mostly keep Ronda from clinching. Floyd is literally probably 100 times better with Footwork and counter punching. How the hell would Randa get the clinch? The only way she ever gets it is by punching her way in. It only worked like twice vs Holm and would NEVER work vs Floyd without getting KOd

if she was a wrestler and could shoot a double then she would probably beat him though

lol his footwork (best ever) would prepare one fast hard precise shot to the kisser of Ronda and its good night irene.. and he would do it with his hands down

i doubt he would ko her with one shot. that's very wishful thinking. about as unlikely as Honda just walking through Floyds first punch and clinching to the armbar. he would obviously frustrate her but his opponents wear big ass gloves for a living. They cant grab him with one hand. He's also never been tested in that regard so his training isn't based around "footworking" against hands, just "footworking" against big ass gloves who cant grab. His muscle memory in his arms are great for throwing shots but Rondas are great for grabbing. Even Holly got grabbed a few times but she has enough fantastic "non-boxing" training to prevent a take down. Floyd would think she's pulling a Floyd on him if Honda tried to clinch. Then Boom. Armbar. Floyds a boxer. Hollys a fighter.

I heard a story that Floyd "sparred" with someone once and let the guy throw all he wanted without countering even once, the guy hit nothing but air for several minutes, and eventually got tired and gave up.
Floyd was just 'unhittable'!

How many counters did Ronda eat first trying to rush in before she got the fight to the ground? 10? Holm landed a bunch of counters with her footwork and boxing well before Ronda went for that arm. Floyd might not hit hard for a WW with 14 ounce gloves, but he would 100% get the KO the first time Ronda ran at him.

If Ronda ever shot doubles or singles i would give her a chance, but she only gets TDs from the clinch and she would never be able to get clinch with Floyd

i have to admit that i kind of did. I said that Floyd would beat her but wasnt so convinced. Now even the thought about Ronda vs the worlds best ever male boxer just makes me facepalm.

I don't see why you would change your mind. If you thought before that Ronda would stand and trade with him you need your head examined. Of course any MMA fighter with sense would try to get it to the ground ASAP so that it could go like Royce Gracie versus the boxer did in UFC 1. Don't ask me why Ronda stood and traded with Holm. I think that was just arrogance and first and by the time she realized she made a mistake she was too messed up. It didn't seem that her corner was telling her to take it to the ground either which was...ridiculous.

Couture is 100 times more skilled and well rounded then Ronda and Floyd is 1000 times more skilled and fit then Toney was. Toney and Randy were both Males also.
